MC Prussian Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Looking forward to this one. Still. Why? All I know is: You lot are going to win this by a rather large margin. We never play well against England and as of right now, we only have one true striker available for Wednesday - a 32-year old who's currently second best goalscorer in the Dutch Eredivisie. Which means, we're going to use a VERY intriguing 4-5-1, with some attacking midfielders at our disposal (Barnetta, Yakin, Fernandes, et al.). Diego Benaglio is set to be our No.1 in goal for the upcoming European Championship. Our defence is massively weakened by the absence of Djourou, Degen and Magnin. Dzemaili (Bolton) will also miss out on this through injury, so do Frei (Dortmund) and Streller (Basel) Out of our last 15 games, we've won 7, drew one and lost the rest. A pretty even record. So far. 3 - 1 to England. What's your say?

Didn't relise the Swiss team had so many players out, can't see you doing much at Wembley without so many players. I've got no idea what Cappelo will do, should be interesting.

He's made the squad, but could feature as an attacking midfielder, too. If Kuhn's really in a good mood, he'll let the lad play up front, together with N'Kufo. Wicky's has not been nominated by Kuhn and just recently agreed to a move to the MLS (Chivas Los Angeles).
AyewJoking Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 1-0 Michael Owen!! I'd consider myself hugely patriotic but its hard to get excited about this one. Win, lose or draw it means absolutely nothing.

I remember him being left our of the WC squad due to injury and Haken Yakin being called up instead. and about a week and half before the tournament started he demanded to be reinstated after declaring himself fit.
Geo V Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 3-0 England. It will be the same kind of over-reaction in the press after McClaren managed to guide England to a 4-0 win over Greece in his first game but I`ll rather judge the way we play in qualifying games and not friendlies. One thing I am happy about is that we have actually got a tactician in place and not some clueless half-wit.
Staf Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 I only get excited when england play important game but we will win tomorrow 3-0. I will be watching this because it is Capellos first game but normally i prefer watching the U21 team they have some quality players and i get excited about the future of English football
Sparky Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 3 goals to to zip. England. Owen Rooney Gerrard. yeah 3-0 Owen 1st goal will get a few quid slapped on
dandannieldanok Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Will be keeping an eye out for Tranquillo Barnetta, impressive every time I've seen him (which isn't a lot admittedly)
Ashley Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Nothing Game Atmosphere will be dead England 4 - 0 Switzerland
Tevez Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Switzerland are good, Gelson Fernandes Hat Trick. 3-0
Tommy G Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Switzerland are good, Gelson Fernandes Hat Trick. 3-0
lildave3 Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Comfortable 2-0. Crouch first G/s. What's the team likely to be? Aren't Owen and Rooney both fit and available for a change? Or am I mistaken?
Bert Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 Switzerland are good, Gelson Fernandes Hat Trick. 3-0 Tw@.
Joe. Posted 5 February 2008 Posted 5 February 2008 What's the team likely to be?Aren't Owen and Rooney both fit and available for a change? Or am I mistaken? No idea what he'll do. But on England form I'd find it hard to drop Crouch. Wouldn't mind seeing Owen not played, maybe played second half.

Durnerz Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Quite excited about this game really, Capello has impressed me with his 'Boot Camp' style methods which hopefully will lead to us being much more disciplined and controlled in the way we approach and compete in games. Roll on kick off. PS: 2-0 England.

Simi Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Is anyone on here going to the match? If they were they more than likely wouldn't be posting at 4:14!
