lildave3 Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 You haven't proved nothing really. Of course they aren't Conference standard but in international football they kinda are. I would rank Swiss as a league 1 club and USA as a mid table championship club. So i guess your kinda right afterall. So you're saying Leicester could beat Switzerland? Seriously?
Hugo Sanchez Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 So you're saying Leicester could beat Switzerland? Seriously? Seriously no, you don't get what i'm trying to say.

Alexikokopops Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 Gerrard got man of the match? Balls to that, he did fook all except in the last 20 minutes or so.

So are Socceroos like the Everton of the world cos we have Timmy Cahill (last 16 in the WC you know)

Ric Flair Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 Defensively quite bad, we seem to switch off when the game opens up a bit more for us. Thought Bentley, J Cole, Gerrard and to a certain extent Rooney were quality. Rooney just doesn't sometimes know when to pass or to shoot, the greedy coont. Bentley was superb, some of his passing and crossing was Beckhamesque, especially the 2 chipped crosses in the 2nd half to Rooney and then to Crouch who should have buried both of them. Definitely made his mark and will be a valuable player, the sort of player you need away from home. SWP has gone missing in games when we've played away from Wembley, Bentley will have given Capello much to consider. Wayne Bridge continued where he left off, fookin cretin.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 Seriously no, you don't get what i'm trying to say. I do, it's ridiculous way of looking at international football. And the Swiss are better the the yanks.
Uncle Albert Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 Gerrard got man of the match?Balls to that, he did fook all except in the last 20 minutes or so. No he didnt play the ball out to Joe Cole for the first goal, and he wasnt the one who set up SWP for the second? Must of been some other player then. I don't know why most people have a go at Gerrard all the time on here. Him and Rooney were the best players on the pitch last night, by far. Bentley, was nowhere as effective as he should of been. Didnt put any decent deliveries into the box at all. Gerrard to keep the captains armband for the France game. Lead us to a victory.

SWP has gone missing in games when we've played away from Wembley, Bentley will have given Capello much to consider. Wayne Bridge continued where he left off, fookin cretin. Was my first time at Wembley last night and the stadium is quite simply amazing. Great seats and view, and the atmosphere wasn't that bad either- and after seeing the traffic afterwards I can understand why people leave at 80 minutes! Didn't help the fact that they closed two lanes of the north circular to repair some bloody street lights in the central reservation. Didn't get home till gone 1am! Thought that defensively we were quite poor- not just the defence (although I though Ashley Cole was especially poor!) but the way that at times, especially the first half, the Swiss played straight through our five man midfield was laughable. The real change though was going forward, I thought Bentley was superb (although a few free kicks and crosses were quite poor) with his movement and passing, and if he continues in that vein, we'll have a bit of a player on our hands. Going forward we looked pretty dangerous, despite only playing one up, and we really should have scored more (Rooney should have had a hatful!). It's early days, but if we sort things out defensively then there is some promise there. PS- No way in a million years was Steven Gerrard man of the match.

Questiones: Whom does the States face on a regular basis? Oh, football giants like Canada ( ), Honduras, El Salvador, etc. Only Mexico and maybe Costa Rica and/or Jamaica can live up to your standards. No wonder you constantly get good results - which is mirrored in this farcical table. Any other European national squad would probably thrash CONCACAF teams alike. End of.

Mexico and USA are only so high because they play the poorer CONCACAF teams and therefore boost their rankings much easier than any of the European sides. Just looking through the top 15 or so only increases my dislike of these rankings.
