Joe. Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Did you watch the game? Giving Rooney a 7 is harsh, he was MOTM. No I just decided to give random ratings. A 7 isn't bad, but I wouldn't say Rooney was man of the match. He worked very hard yes, but he didn't actually produce a lot and should have done better with a few things I thought. I'd say he had a solid game, but Gerrard was comfortably MOM for me.

You must have been watching an entirely different game. Gerrard had a solid game but nothing special whatsoever. Rooney and Bentley gave us an edge but he didn't, a few good passes, but thats the least you would expect if your playing centre mid for your country. Perhaps he looked decent as Jenas and barry were absent/shoddy.
Finnegan Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 I was a nat's tadgers from going this afternoon. Wish I had.Pitch be bollocks'd - Wrexham has terracing! Would love to have had the money to go. I don't really miss a lot of our home games, but I'm totally spartan for benjamins at the moment.
Joe. Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 So what did Gerrard do?? Only had a hand in both goals, not much really. His passing was excellent tonight, and he was involved in most of our forward play. It seems to me that many people have given Rooney MOM purely because of is work rate. I didn't see him offering too much in front of goal if I'm honest.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Socceroos 3-0 Qatar First game of the world cup qualifiers
Daggers Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 I'm totally spartan for benjamins at the moment. Yea, err, about half past nine? You young people and your "jive talk" - sometimes I really wonder whether it was the fault of Thatcher abolishing milk from schools. Or maybe it was Thracian? One of them has to cop the blame somewhere down the line.

You sounds like you've jumped on the "I love Steven Gerrard bandwagon'' You mentioned Rooneys work rate - isn't that one of Gerrards merits? he does it for Liverpool. ''Carries the team by himself'' as people keep saying. He is over hyped, and providing a slightly average performance tonights shows how you have been influenced by the media about Steven Gerrard! He was ok tonight - thats it. If that means he should be given MOTM then it really shows how poor Gerrard has played for us over the last 18 months! He didnt get the assist for the Jenas goal? Cole did. Doesn't warrant MOTM
Floating Fox Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Would love to have had the money to go. I don't really miss a lot of our home games, but I'm totally spartan for benjamins at the moment. What was the attendence? Did the kop at Wrexham have to be closed?
Daggers Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Did the kop at Wrexham have to be closed? Nope - and it was 'turn up at the gate for a tenner'. Proper football
WetFlannel Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 I didnt think Bentley was as good as everyone was making out. He was average imo. Gerrard second half was very good, and Rooney had a decent game. Joe Cole as usual puts in a solid performance. Wes Brown? Jesus Christ...
Floating Fox Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 Nope - and it was 'turn up at the gate for a tenner'.Proper football Sweet! Nice of the Welsh FA that. I bet they charged £7 for a Burger though, surely, they must have. Everyone does it.

Tommy G Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 He said Gerrard had a hand in both goals. Bentley was man of the match for me. I mean how far do you go back? I'm sure ''Wayne Brown'' had a hand in one of the goals at some point..

Gerrard second half was very good, and Rooney had a decent game. Joe Cole as usual puts in a solid performance. Wes Brown? Jesus Christ... You didn't think Bentley was as good as everyone makes out yet your raving on about Zsolt ?! I thought Bentley played really well and hopefully will keep Beckham out.
Bert Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 I mean how far do you go back? I'm sure ''Wayne Brown'' had a hand in one of the goals at some point.. Weren't me saying he had a hand in it! I was just pointing out what he meant. But anyway, I think Gerrard passed the ball to Cole, not to sure, don't really care either. The only goal Wayne Brown had a hand in, was theirs.

Thought that was Rio fault, ok was a quick shot but you thought he would have been abit closer to his man. Seems our defence is still inviting the other team to shoot.

Just amazes me how people can think Gerrard was so goo?! A few fancy dan passes and he's MOTM, it beggars belief. Just for the record does anyone think Wayne Brown looks confused when playing football...I dread to think what his IQ is?
WetFlannel Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 You didn't think Bentley was as good as everyone makes out yet your raving on about Zsolt ?! Joe. Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 I mean how far do you go back? I'm sure ''Wayne Brown'' had a hand in one of the goals at some point.. Gerrard to Cole to Jenas to goal. Gerrard to Wright-Phillips to goal. That to me tells me he had a hand in two goals.

lildave3 Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 87 minutes in and I finally get to see the one player I wanted to.
Floating Fox Posted 6 February 2008 Posted 6 February 2008 87 minutes in and I finally get to see the one player I wanted to. Sappleton came on?
