Gradel Pens New Foxes Deal

Winger Max Gradel has signed a three-year extension to his Leicester City contract.

The 20-year-old's current deal was due to expire at the end of this season but he will now remain at the Walkers Stadium until June 2011.

The tricky Ivory Coast-born winger has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Foxes but is expected to have a bright future at the club.

He is currently on loan at AFC Bournemouth and has made 23 appearances for the Cherries to date.

Gradel, an Academy graduate, has found the back of the net six times at The Fitness First Stadium.

It's clear evidence that he has done enough in his loan spell to secure his future at the club.

Fantastic news. Makes me more comfortable that him remaining on loan is a good thing because he will continue to develop and his experience and confidence will grow. Hopefully see a lot more of him next season.

Well he's clearly done enough to earn this, and it looks like he's definitely in Holloway's line of thought.

Holloway said in the week that Max needed the first team experience he's getting at Bournemouth and that he'd bring him back in the summer and get him integrating with our current squad and see what happens from there.

Overall pleased about this.

Not one of our youngsters in recent years has been offered a 3 year contract and not gone on to at least get a chance to prove themselves. Had he only been offered a 1 year deal, that might have suggested the club weren't overly confident of his long term future as a footballer at this level.

3 years is a very good indication of how they rate this lad, you've set your stall out though so no doubt you'll take a lot more convincing than a big contract that he's well thought of here.

Certainly a promising sign for the young lad. I'm sure Ollie has heard plenty about what he's been doing whilst on loan. As he said on the moan in, his scouts have been to see him play.

I think the lad has a bright future ahead of him if he can control the attitude he has. If this loan has worked, then you hope that it would have been controlled.

Well done Max.

No he's not, but what I did say seems to have disappeared so it doesn't matter now.

For the third time. Yes great news hopefully he can come back next season and compete for a place, theres no doubt he has creativity and goals in him.

And Mark I can't send PMs at home but I'm well aware, it was a passing comment and it wasn't my intention to make a big deal out of it.

That about sums it up.

We may well have a player on our hands here so lets hope he continues to progress.

I haven't seen him back certaintly seems to have a keen eye for goal as a winger and would love to see that sort of player in our first team

The boy's a gem - just the sort of character all football clubs need to counter all the non-personalities that match so much of the football these days.

Bit of a shit penalty though :giggle:

There are only two types of penalties MP - those that go in and those that don't. :D

Yeah yeah. But what a tit he'd have looked if the keeper had stretched that extra inch to tip it wide.

according to Bornemouth Echo, Bornemouth are going into admin in 24 hrs. Will this effect Max?

not unless they have to stop playing their games, I suspect we're still paying the majority of his wages in any case

Not one bit. He'll just beat the opposition on his own and take a collection for his wages! :D
