Great.

Where will these games be played, at suffered countries who are under poor circumstances.

Or those that have the intention of buying the league.

You mean the Premier League it does nothing for the FA directly

Yes... Thats what i meant...

I really hate this idea, i have never liked that prat scudamore either!!!

I will really protest this.... I dont agree with it... they have the games beemed everywhere on tele anyway, and besides the fun of it is for them to come to us and watch our games not us taking the games to them...

The tours, ok fair enough!!

But it should stop at that, i hope they see sense and laugh this off....

Leicester vs Man utd in 3 years.... at the sapporo dome!!!

Sounds great doesnt it!!!

I've now decided that I want Derby and Forest in the Premier League while we stay where we are. Because I'd piss myself if they landed a game in Basra.

My girlfriend is staying in the hotel where the Premier League chairmen discussed this bollocks today. If only I'd known, I could have got her to do a number two in the coffee pot or something

To compromise, the FA might hold the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup abroad. If they want to export the English game abroad, let Tokyo and Melbourne enjoy the delights of Boreham Wood vs Harrogate Railway.

I can't add anything more to what's been said already.

Except for the word, "shithouse".

This is great just imagine how much more popular the EPL will be if they play a Prem game in Australia ( :scarf: ),

South Africa, Norway, China, Japan, USA, Brazil. I know as being Australian how much the game has grown in this country since we have made the world cup if we got a proper EPL played for 3 points each year Football in this country will explode.

In England football is the #1 sport by a long way i pressume, countrys like ourselves need a kick strart to get people seeing some world class football live and it will give our league (A-League) which is in its 3 rd year a good bit of publicity as well and may even be played as a curtain raiser for an EPL game. The more people that go the more that will fall in love with the game and start turning up to watch the local league on a regular basis and the EPL on TV increaseing its global audience.

Now imagine China getting an EPL game it will be bigger than the Olympics and will just be massive for the EPL and FA in general.

I have no doubt that if an EPL game was played in Melbourne they would sell out the MCG all 95,000 tickets even if it was say Everton V Derby quite a mouth watering prospect and something the English FA have to explore.

The only hope is that FIFA and/or UEFA will refuse to sanction this scam.

This could yet happen. The proposal threatens the integrity of not only the Premier League but also the leagues of the host nations.

What also disgusts me is that some of these greedy b'stards are usually whingeing about the season being too long and how their poor players will burn themselves out.

But once there's the chance of yet ANOTHER big payday, suddenly they're delighted to extend the season.

I'd like to see Melbourne sell out a Wigan v Bolton game.

I cant speak for any other country but as an Australian I disagree entierly, i think it will only be benificial for our local League what you have to realize is that Football isn't that big or popular in some countries i have plenty of mates that have never been to a game before but have been to plenty of AFL, cricket etc games. But they still know who Man U, Livepool, Arsenal and Chelsea are if one of these teams came to AUS it would sell out and get people like my mates to the game and bang they are hooked and then start going to our local A-league games. Hence haveing a tremendous flow on affect for the profile and attendance levels of our League. It has happend when the roos made the WC and then the A-League crowds increased you give us a prem game A-league attendances will increase even more suddenly football is challenging the likes of AFL for popularity.

Its disgusting and goes against everything that the sport should be about. Perhaps you should just take your mates to a proper Melbourne match so they can watch something with a shred integrity. I can't believe that even people who stand to be able to see a fancier team in person would be supportive of something that would destroy any soul that remains in this competition. Although I guess understanding and respect is a step beyond most people. I hope that the Premier league bankrupts itself signing all the contracts then realising that UEFA will abandon them if they do it, leaving them without all their precious moneymaking.

What broading the brand name, giving people the oppurtunity to see top level competitive football

The thing is it's not about that.

It's about increasing revenue, and increasing money for the top clubs, and furthering the gap between the Premier League and the rest, a gap that's already big enough as it is.

That's as much as I can be bothered to type in my cureent state, I might make more sense in a more sober one.

Defeinetly they wouldn't do it if there weren't going to make a buck maybe it is the main factor, but i believe they are also doing it for the good of the game (good of the game gee that sounds gay). With the amount of forieng players in the EPL why not give countries a chance to see quite often there country men play for there club i would love to see Everton (Cahill) V say West Ham (Lucas Neil). Who knows maybe the players might enjoy playing in these sort of games aswell. They are just trying to make the EPL the best league in the world and if that helps out other nations that don't have a rich footballing hertiage im all for that.

Thats exactly the point though. Football should not be about a brand. And as for taking the game to those who don't get the opportunity to see high level games, if they could be bothered to turn up to their local leagues, support their sides and increase the revenue and buying power of these clubs then they may witness top quality football on their own turf. This is not taking the game to other naions. Its taking it away from the fans that matter. Like you say, the biggest clubs are heard of in Australia anyway, so if the interest was strong enough, Aussie fans would already be watching their local sides based on what they had seen from the top English sides on television.

But it isn't for the good of the game. And the powers that be couldn't care less what is for the good of the game. They only care about the good of their pockets. Taking the game abroad will not improve the Premier League. Everybody has already heard of it and those players, wherever they are from, have heard of it and if they are good enough will play in it.

Sorry Socceroofox, but I can't see how this doesn't damage the integrity of the game.

An extra league game will be played abroad, based on a random draw (in which the top 5 teams will be seeded). Would it not be unfair and making a mockery of integrity if say one relegation threatened team draws Man Utd and the other draws, say Fulham. How can that be fair, when you are playing for three potentially valuable points.

Add to that the potential of this to damage local leagues and FAs, with potential lost sponsorship and interest in domestic leagues from countries like China or Australia.

Then, why play only one game abroad, why not two or three a season?

First of all I can obviously see why you think this is a good idea but you fail to see it from our point of view.

You will not find a a English football fan who agrees with this, from the Emirates to Sincil Bank, I will be suprised if you find more than a handful of English football fans who can see any positive in this idea.

Firstly it is not the responsibilty of the EPL to "kick start" football in Australia, South Africa, or any where else. It is our league, our national sport, our teams and our money thats kept these clubs afloat for well over a century in most cases. We've made it what it is today in many respects and how do we get thanked. They start uprooting our teams and taking them halfway round the world to play an extra game.

I literally do not know where to start telling you all the things that are wrong with this, for starters it totally takes away the level playing field of player 38 games a season, 19 at home, 19 away. As has been pointed out Championships and relegations could be descided by total luck of the draw. It takes takes the fans teams away from them, it adds yet another game to a season that already has too many games, as well as excessive traveling, it will widen the gap between the lower divisions to the Premier League even more, a gap that is too big as it is. The biggest worry of all it could well just be the start, after this even more abroad games could be brought in and why should we have our game taken away from us, we've already been foreced to pay a ****ing fortune to watch football and made to sit down and controlled like children every time we go to the football. It's bullshit.
