Brainy Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Not one person has said anything about the state of our pitch.
STUHILL Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Very disapointing, wasn't impressed with ollies subs and having two strikers on the wing, tried it before and not worked so why keep doing it when we go a goal down. He has to be more patient and stick with proper wingers. The most worrying thing for me is, we have signed players like Oakley, Howard and some wingers, and we still look no better! I really don't know why that is. At least before, we could say we needed this and this to improve. But now we have a good team on paper yet still cant win, let alone but a half decent performance on!! very very clueless and depressed after that.
purpleronnie Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Not one person has said anything about the state of our pitch. I'll say it was the same for both teams.
StroudFox Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Not one person has said anything about the state of our pitch. Plymouth played ok on it. How can you blame the pitch?

pillgrim1 Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Not one person has said anything about the state of our pitch. you should grow potatoes on it
martyn Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Yeah, how dare the pitch inhibit our usual free flowing style of play.
StroudFox Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 you should grow potatoes on it That's what Barber said before the game, that it looked like potatoes had been pulled out of it! Yeah, how dare the pitch inhibit our usual free flowing style of play.
RizLCFC Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Not one person has said anything about the state of our pitch. The pitch concerns me aswell mate, but, I think the difference lies here, if your a professional footballer, passionate about playing the game in front of good crowds then you wouldn't mind playing on bear mud or water, Plymouth played well on it, it's either that our players are scared of falling over and getting their kit dirty or then their attitude towards playing in a Leicester shirt sucks!
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Not one person has said anything about the state of our pitch. Not that f-----g excuse again its the same for both teams.
Thor Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 To criticise the referee for denying us a penalty is just glossing over the complete failure of our football club. A disgusting performance against a team who have been struggling massively. Was it written into McAuleys new contract that he is only allowed to 'pass' the ball a minimum of 70 yards??Campbell or Fryatt have to comer in at Watford, they offer something different in that DJ may make something of his flick onns whereas playing Fryatt might at least encourage us to play some footbal in the final third, rather than relying on set pieces and the bounce of the ball. Spot on in my view. Howard and Hayles were dreadful up front today. No argument with bringing on DJ at half time, but Hayles should have gone, not Bori, who was doing OK. Yet again we had four strikers on the pitch, two of them playing out of position. Fryatt should have been introduced much earlier, for Howard, who did little but blunder about for the whole match.
Dames Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Not one person has said anything about the state of our pitch. Thats because most of our football is played in the sky as i've pointed out in another thread. The pitch is merely there to try and put off other teams styles of play.

Weve got to face it hes not Noel Coward, hes Benny from Crossroads and hes got to go
Plymouth Pete Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I know you wont want to hear from me tonight, but will you please allow me a quite smile of satisfaction.

ForestFilbert Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I can honestly say that I cannot recall swearing at the TV so much during a Leicester game. I should think fans at ground level will all be booking neck massage sessions to relieve the stiffness of glaring at long balls. Barry Hayles was moriband (to quote Alan Partridge), Hume was huff puff and bugger all end product. Ollie looked like a scared schoolboy apeasing Plymouth fans. I have never seen such poor creativity since attending the local art exhibition 2 months ago, and that was crap. As for the rest of the season.......well staying up is all we can hope for right now. How depressing...technically inept and poor.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 This team is not plaing much better than ROB KELLYS and he could not spend a fiver, it must be me i dont know, can anyone tell me what great achievments that IH has done he has never taken a team into the prem and he does not look like doing so, I am absolutety pissed off with his style of play and when hes on the radio, i like playing attacking football with 2 wingers that entertain, well he could have fooled me.
Guest Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Words fail me to describe what I've just seen. Abysmal might be a start
Free Falling Foxes Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 'spose you lot will fall for Ollies words again when he next appears on R Leicester. Believe your eyes. FFF
Brainy Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 *These views are from what I saw on TV The commentators were awful. They were biased towards Plymouth at basically everything, especially the offside decisions. The first one with Howard, blatantly level and they agreed that he was just off. Then with Dj after the hour mark, he was up on the far side of the pitch, blatantly onside, being played of by a defender on the nearside. They didnt notice it. The pitch was again embarrasing, perhaps not as worse as it was against Palace but still poor. I won't use that as an excuse though - it was the same for both sides and Plymouth dealt with it better. The officials were poor, for both sides. Alright, it may have been pretty impossible to see the handball by Hodges but overall they was poor. As for Ian Holloway looking like he didnt care - you're right. He did sit there at most times with his arms folded not really making much movement. I'd use the whole Plymouth/Paul Stapleton saga as the reason for this though. He looked astonished and upset in the week at what he had heard and to be honest, ever since he came here Ive never actually seen the Ian Holloway humour ive seen at Plymouth and QPR. He's basically worke non-stop since he joined a few months back. Please stop calling for his head - we need stability at this club as most of you can probably understand and realise. I can understand the knee-jerk reaction but Ollie has just started building his own squad here. He's came further than all our other managers in the past eight months and needs time to sort this out. I know we're in trouble but I really cant see us going down. But the performance.. yes it wasn't great, but in all fairness I didn't see Argyle creating too much. They sat back for the first 10 mins and after half time looking to counter attack and see what they could do. The defence didnt look as good as i've seen before this season. There were plenty of times where they Plymouth wingers/strikers found space out wide and we never seemed to notice this. Our build up play looked good but unfortunately thats as far as we go. Our finishing was poor and we looked nervous in front of goal. We have very good strikers at this club so I find it shocking that we cant take our chances given to us from 6 yards out. Alnwick was solid in goal although my only criticism of him was the goal - should've done better. None of our players really stood out tonight. Clapham was solid and took his time on the ball (sometimes too much time). Oakley and Clemence worked well in midfield without really creating too much. Bori - thankfully he went off at half time. Hume did alright playing out of position, worked well with Dj when he came on. Laczko, I know he had little time to make an impact but it wasnt the dive that disappointed me. He came on for Hayles who looked decent playing a little out of position. The Howard Campbell partnership impressed me, Howard flicking the headers on although nothing really came of that. At the end of the day I just couldnt see us scoring. McCormick had a great time in goal whilst it was the Plymouth defence who looked like they went into the game with the best defensive record, not us. Now we just have to put up with the Argyle fans mocking us. Going back to where I was though - surely this Ollie out talk is just a knee-jerk reaction? I hope so. I just think a poor Plymouth performance made us look just as poor tonight.
Wilkesy Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I know you wont want to hear from me tonight, but will you please allow me a quite smile of satisfaction. Yes, well done your team played better than ours and deserved the win. Now go please before we all getting very annoyed and abusive Eurgh - maybes is logged in as wilkesy!!
Brainy Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I'll say it was the same for both teams. Plymouth played ok on it. How can you blame the pitch? Not that f-----g excuse again its the same for both teams. When did I blame the pitch? Read my previous post if you want to know my take on it.
WetFlannel Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I know you wont want to hear from me tonight, but will you please allow me a quite smile of satisfaction. Of course you can, your the only Plymouth fan who has sense on here.
Ashley Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 We were shocking today. I said earlier in this year I belived we could make the play offs but there is no hope now. I would be happy to stay up and let Holloway build in this summer. To much has happend in this club this season with Managers coming and going etc ...
