The thing with Holloway was he was brilliant for us NOT because his management skills but he made us believe in ourselves. We are special because we're in the corner of the footballing world and have the unenviable record of being the biggest city NEVER to have had a top flight team.

Who on earth told you that?? I think you'll find Hull are the biggest city in Europe to have never had a top flight team. Good post otherwise.

Sorry Zsolt I am new to all this!!

But I am angry and felt it was relevant to both discussions.

Barry Hayles was terrible yesterday as he was away at Blackpool too. I think Ollies faith is misguided- Fryatt is a better option IMO

I think its just the natural reaction of losing, and in the position we are in, it makes hard to take. I'm sure we will be safe this season, but it's just a case of weathering the storm. We need to ride this season out now, and plan for next season. We have a 3 year plan. Let's stick to it for now, and try and get some stability.

Let's hope we're not still saying that is 2010

At the end of the day, Holloway was to blame for yesterday.

He left Plmouth for us, yet as respect, he said he wouldn't celebrate if we score, thus disrespecting leicester.

Throughout the game, holloway very rearely come out of his seat, very unlike him, Meaning out players were clueless... Although, no change there.

He says we need leaders... we need a fooking manager who cares for this club, who ever we play.

His lack off passion for yesterdays game oozed into the players, especially hayles. Resulting in us losing.

No one stuck that on Megson - but maybe that's because we beat Forest?

Holloway wasn't to blame for yesterday - the eleven players on the pitch shoulder more than their proportion of responsibility. If he is spending the week working on tactics, a gameplan and firing players up only for them to go AWoL on the day it doesn't all fall back to him.

Players are hiding, not taking up the challenge facing them - and now the booing has returned.

I can't see us doing any more than limping to the end of the season...but then MM has to spend big, the squad needs enlarging with quality in all areas.

Does Milan have the money to spend big though? I think in the Premier League, the answer would be yes, because he could use money gained from tv rights. However, in this league, we don't have that extra income. I don't remember him spending big at Pompey at this level, but he had a manager there renowned for his ability to wheel and deal. Mind you, I think Ollie is capable of that himself. Milan has spent about £8 million so far? Probably substantially more if you include those whose contracts have been terminated. I'm not sure how much that will effect his capacity to spend this summer. He isn't even that big a player in terms of this league anymore. I think perhaps 4-6 million quid spent well at this level is sufficient to create a decent side at this level. Ollie will get that, at least, this summer I would imagine, and he has built well at other clubs with far less.

Words defy me in describing yesterday's game. Put it this way, the highlight was watching Raj drink his Cappucino before the game.

First off - why did we pick Bori then play Hume on the right?

Why did DJ not start

Why did we have 4 strikers on the field at the end?

Why wasn't Hume substituted when he was clearly struggling?

Why is the pitch THAT shit?

What happened to the tidy football we played in the first 15?

Why did we pass the ball about defence EVERY time until we're pressured into hoofing it?

Why is every Championship referee so retarded?

Why oh why can we not be a bit consistant?

Tempted to put a bet on us going down. That's how bad it was. And don't turn around to me and say, well we got a few points of late. We were good against Coventry, and that is all.

All those people talking about promotion last week can sod off. We are genuinely in the shits still and we have a lot to sort out. I don't expect us to get anything out of Watford and Norwich are on a roll. This time next week we could be bricking it. Seriously.

SACK HOLLOWAY NOW!

I have never seen such a ridiculous shambles- I am a 53 year old, whos been going to see the Foxes since I was about 5 so I am pretty well qualified to talk about them. The way we are playing football is a disgrace- shambolic! Holloway needs to stop all his media nonsence and concentrate on trying to win football matches. He left Plymouth in a mess, QPR in a mess, Bristol Rovers in administration and now he is taking us DOWN!

We were mid table when he took over and now we have won only 4 matches since out of about 16 league games. Very poor considering the money he has had to spend.

Sort it out now MILAN

I am with you on this one, They all keep banging on about holloway but whats this guy DONE earlier on in the season he got plymouth up to 7th was it, In the 70s jimmy bloomfield got city into 6th postion in the old first division and he got the sack [ ask birch ] but whats this guy done he messed around at QPR and then he was at plymouth for 18 months,He has never took a team into the prem and IMO he does not look like doing so, bottom line is he cant motivate players and he wont be long before hes lost the dressing room, Fans keep saying give him until the rest of the season but i am afraid it could be to late by then.

No, we should not sack Holloway. Who could we bring in who would be better and could motivate the players any better? Panic is not the answer. That said, I wouldn't put it past Milan to pull the trigger.

Nice stadium. Though, it did shake a bit.

Fair game, Hodges (hate him) did handball, but Howard was lucky to get away with nothing for his elbow on McCormick 3 minutes in.

Overall, football is attacking and defending, and on the day, the best team won.

I can live with that bit.

He didnt leave Argyle in a mess.

Nor QPR or Brizzle.

Nor were we mid table when he took over.

You're talking out your arse.

A lot of people comment on the shaking.

I've read more than once before that it is supposed to happen.

Hi, another Argyle fan here. Just an observation, but isn`t it a bit early calling for Holloway to be sacked. I like most Argyle fans was well pissed off when he left but all that does is tell you that he was a great manager for us . To be honest i think yesterday was an emotional day for him and probably why he wasn`t himself. I have been on this site a few times, especially during the Norris saga to try to find out who he was going top sign for, and the thing above all i find hard to beleive is why your fans don`t seem bothered about the state of your pitch. It is not suprising your team has had to resort to hoofball with that surface. You can excuse areas of the pitch that there is no grass on but your pitch looked like it had molehills on it even before kick off. I watched the game on sky when you played crystal palace and the pitch was almost as bad then too. The football we saw here under olly was great with free flowing passing along the ground, something that i would have thought impossible on the walkers pitch. How can you expect good players to play on that pitch??? Anyway enjoy the rest of the season, i am sure if you give olly the time he needs , he will turn the fortunes of the club around. personally i am quite pleased that Holloway left us as i have always been a Sturrock fan, he took us out of the doldrums and signed some fantastic players for us on a minimal budget- thats not to take anything away from olly, there was always an air of excitement at home park when he was in charge, even if his tactics sometimes left a lot to be desired.

That was a total disgrace.

The players didn't look like they cared. the manager was invisible. The tactics were terrible if there were in fact any at all. Players didn't tackle, couldn't pass the ball to each other.

The embarrasing thing is that not only did Plymouth appear to want to win more than we did (they were generally quicker to every ball) they had the 2 best players on the pitch. In fact on yesterday's show I couldn't point to 1 of our players who would get into their team.

Obviously we can't sack Holloway but it is time for him to get his act together and prove he is good enough for this club. At the moment he looks utterly out of his depth.

lol @ these sack Holloway posts. The Cov game was some of the most attractive Championship football I've ever seen.

And the following games weren't..

Southampton (home)

Burnley (away)

West Brom (home)

Ipswich (away)

Hull (away)

Charlton (home)

QPR (away)

Norwich (away)

Palace (home)

Blackpool (away)

Plymouth (home)

One decent performance can't excuse many bad ones!

Do you honestly think holloways a great motivater after the last few matches, And i can at least think of 3 managers out of work who have done what we are trying to achieve ,Thats to get in the premiership that is something ollie has not done yet and with it being a tough league i dont think he will ever do it.

Right after deciding not to enter this forum for a little while since Saturday (because i know i would get more pissed off) here are my judgements.

We were crap, we didn't deserve anything. Plymouth worked like a Holloway side. Their two centre backs were superb i thought.

Hume needs to stop living by his name. Even so he isn't a midfielder and if we should play him, play him up front.

DJ to start with Howard. Someone that can flick it on and someone who is quick and on his day will finish. We desperately need another wide player just for another option. I think Sinclair would be ideal, because i don't think the Hungarians are quite ready. And will be more developed for next season.

We need to start being a little less sorry for ouselves, and getting on with it.

Our supporters need to start being less pathetic as well.

Anyway i will be going Watford tomorro night looking to enjoy myself and hoping for a 3 points.
