Father Ted Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Absolute ****ing garbage. Hayles is crap - I've said this all along as well as Clemence. The Ref was crap and we've finally realised what a coward Holloway is and that he is only all mouth, when we were losing he stayed low. Absolutely disgusting display, and message for Plymouth fans - \/ And now to go and puke
UrbanFox Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I can honestly say that I cannot recall swearing at the TV so much during a Leicester game. I should think fans at ground level will all be booking neck massage sessions to relieve the stiffness of glaring at long balls. Barry Hayles was moriband (to quote Alan Partridge), Hume was huff puff and bugger all end product. Ollie looked like a scared schoolboy apeasing Plymouth fans. I have never seen such poor creativity since attending the local art exhibition 2 months ago, and that was crap.As for the rest of the season.......well staying up is all we can hope for right now. How depressing...technically inept and poor. agree with everything you say there! the missus has the arse now cos she tryed to talkin the 85th minute! why are we playing barry hayles from the start?? hume/fryatt alongside Howard would of been more effective. also very dissopointed that ollie gave no in interview at the end to say we we were crap!!
STUHILL Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 *These views are from what I saw on TVThe commentators were awful. They were biased towards Plymouth at basically everything, especially the offside decisions. The first one with Howard, blatantly level and they agreed that he was just off. Then with Dj after the hour mark, he was up on the far side of the pitch, blatantly onside, being played of by a defender on the nearside. They didnt notice it. The pitch was again embarrasing, perhaps not as worse as it was against Palace but still poor. I won't use that as an excuse though - it was the same for both sides and Plymouth dealt with it better. The officials were poor, for both sides. Alright, it may have been pretty impossible to see the handball by Hodges but overall they was poor. As for Ian Holloway looking like he didnt care - you're right. He did sit there at most times with his arms folded not really making much movement. I'd use the whole Plymouth/Paul Stapleton saga as the reason for this though. He looked astonished and upset in the week at what he had heard and to be honest, ever since he came here Ive never actually seen the Ian Holloway humour ive seen at Plymouth and QPR. He's basically worke non-stop since he joined a few months back. Please stop calling for his head - we need stability at this club as most of you can probably understand and realise. I can understand the knee-jerk reaction but Ollie has just started building his own squad here. He's came further than all our other managers in the past eight months and needs time to sort this out. I know we're in trouble but I really cant see us going down. But the performance.. yes it wasn't great, but in all fairness I didn't see Argyle creating too much. They sat back for the first 10 mins and after half time looking to counter attack and see what they could do. The defence didnt look as good as i've seen before this season. There were plenty of times where they Plymouth wingers/strikers found space out wide and we never seemed to notice this. Our build up play looked good but unfortunately thats as far as we go. Our finishing was poor and we looked nervous in front of goal. We have very good strikers at this club so I find it shocking that we cant take our chances given to us from 6 yards out. Alnwick was solid in goal although my only criticism of him was the goal - should've done better. None of our players really stood out tonight. Clapham was solid and took his time on the ball (sometimes too much time). Oakley and Clemence worked well in midfield without really creating too much. Bori - thankfully he went off at half time. Hume did alright playing out of position, worked well with Dj when he came on. Laczko, I know he had little time to make an impact but it wasnt the dive that disappointed me. He came on for Hayles who looked decent playing a little out of position. The Howard Campbell partnership impressed me, Howard flicking the headers on although nothing really came of that. At the end of the day I just couldnt see us scoring. McCormick had a great time in goal whilst it was the Plymouth defence who looked like they went into the game with the best defensive record, not us. Now we just have to put up with the Argyle fans mocking us. Going back to where I was though - surely this Ollie out talk is just a knee-jerk reaction? I hope so. I just think a poor Plymouth performance made us look just as poor tonight. Mate what game were you watching. We were completely lost of any ideas. No-one had a good game of any note yet you talk about people working well together or players doing alright out of position. Everyone was poor. We need to get real here. We just lost to another small club and sit just above the relegation zone. Performances like that are well below par by everyone! BUT I will not be calling for Ollies head until next Christmas unless we are relegated of course. I don't think are problems are even the manager anymore. Something has to change deep within the club, but I dunno what or how we can change it!!
lildave3 Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Well. Gutted by this, really am. No creativity, no real movement, no quality. The Fact that Hume and Hayles continue to be played out of position amazes me, why? Why the **** take Bori off when, Clapham aside, I thought he was our best player in the first half? Why bring Laczko on if he's just going to be ignored by all of his teammates? I just can't understand why we seem to be doing the same thing week in week out. I can't see us getting anything but a defeat on Tuesday so the games against Norwich and Coventry are going to be huge.
Joe. Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Oh dear. Poor performance once again. However we should have got at least a draw from tonight's game. First 10 minutes started brilliantly, we looked to pass the ball at every opportunity and generally looked good. Then it all went downhill. Plymouth got into, started passing it around and had a dangerous 15 minute spell which paid off. Halmosi took his goal well- you can see why he's adored so much down South. It was long ball to Howard for so much of the game. He won a fair bit but let's face it, he couldn't do a lot. And his strike partner in Hayles was awful, I was really disappointed with him. Second half improved slightly as per, and we had enough chances in the last 15 minutes to snatch something from the game. A blatant penalty appeal turned down didn't help things either. <_< Zsolt, Campbell, McAuley all had decent enough chances and we really should have got a goal. Disappointing stuff once again I'm sorry to say.

StroudFox Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 When did I blame the pitch? Read my previous post if you want to know my take on it. Yeah I know - you made that comment tongue in cheek. I was just having my opinion on it!
Ozwin Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Best player for us today has to be that new left back. Good crosser of the ball and read the game well, for the most part. It's a shame we played hoof ball for the whole game. Someone needs to tell Alnwick to play the ball on the ground sometime, WE KNOW YOU CAN KICK IT FAR, IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO BOOT IT UPFIELD EVERY ****ING TIME! Anyway, poor game. It's better than it has been but I'm not optimistic for our future.
Flexx Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 McAuley is a load of shite. Yes - he's good at winning headers, but he has no skill with his feet at all. Everytime he got the ball, he just knocked it to Kisnorbo. In my opinion the whole team was poor tonight, but the only players to take any credit are Matt Oakley and Kisnorbo. Oakley seems to no what he's doing when he get's the ball which is good. We're crying out for a player who can run with the ball, Sinclair! Barry Hayles is a joke, i like the guy and i no he has pride for the team, but he has no footballing ability at all. Campbell has to start vs Norwich. And yes - I was at the game.
Finchy Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I'll go for that tenner on Holloway going by March, but don't go for that 50 on us going down. We've never played outside the top 2 leagues and we're not gonna!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 What a load of fooking crap.Hayles - useless. He was useless against Palace and Cov as well, just lucky to get a leg to the ball v Palace. Why does Ollie start him? Might as well start Fryatt, or Campbell. Hume was practically the only one running on the pitch - there was some disgraceful lazy displays, like in one of the last chances where there was an open ball sitting in the box, and one of our players on the edge just stood there and looked at it. The ref - what a ****. Books Laczso for diving but gives the reverse the Hume after a blatant dive. That and missing a stonewall penalty that he was right in front of. Absolute twat. Hope those inbreds have fun shagging their sheep tonight. [/rant] Lascko should have got a 6.0 for that dive! Blatant! He should have stayed on his feet and got a cross in and we might be a little happier! And were we really THAT bad? I've seen us worse - look at it this way One defensive lapse that they were lucky enough to take, two very good saves by their goalie and a brave dive at Howards feet for a good cross from DJ that was inches too fast, two decent heading chances falling to Lascko (wingers - never great headers), a handball appeal that 4 times out of 5 would have been a penalty. We also have a crappy pitch that prevents anyone playing proper football. That we lost one - nil was unlucky more than anything. I'm not saying we shouldn't/couldn't do better, but I'm not gonna start having a go at them! (Not all of them, anyway )
Webbo Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Very disappointing display today, but all this talk of sacking Holloway is just stupid the club needs stability not yet another manager.

David Guiza Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Why do we get our hopes up by beating Cov drawing away at norwich beating palace , then we go and loose 2-1 to blackpool and 1-0 to plymouth
krapcard Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Sorry to read how upset you lot are. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Just read on the rumour board about a few loan signings coming your way. Blair Sturrock from Swindon. Lightning quick striker. Graham Coughlin from Rotheram. Solid center half. Ruben Reid. Another proven striker. Kevin Gallen. MK Dons. Ollies old bum chum. Muffin the mule. Will be better than the whole of your midfield. Also another bit of good news for you all. YOU WILL HAVE THE BEST STADIUM, TRAINING FACILITIES AND THE BIGGEST AMBITION IN THE WHOLE OF DIVISION ONE NEXT SEASON. Enjoy the book while i enjoy my pastie. AVIT

lavrentis Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 All this talk about Pasties is making me hungry.. I'm off to get me a pastie.
Joe. Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I think we had to expect the Plymouth wankers coming on here if they won Just don't rise to any of their bollocks and they'll go away.
Flexx Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Hume played his heart out and put some decent balls in He put some decent balls in but he played his heart out? did he fu ck! He looked down and his confidence is clearly low on the right wing.
Simi Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Holloway has a lot to answer for after that. When will this man learn from his mistakes? I'm fully behind him, but my god he has to fix up now. This constant swapping of Hume and Hayles is woeful. Neither are wingers, we lose shape completely when they move out there. I just don't see what the advantages are. For the whole match we were so easy to read, completely one dimensional. McAuley and Kisnorbo must've had blinkers on because the only person they could see was Howard. With Hayles playing off him he was always going to struggle. We're not using him how we should be. As I and others have been saying for weeks, DJ offers us a lot more. This showed when he came on at half time. Constantly on the last shoulder and causing problems, maybe lacking the final finish, but still a threat. If we start Watford with Hume Hayles and Howard on the pitch I will be absolutely livid. Nice to see Clapham had a good game. Doesn't offer a great deal going forward, but he did everything required at the back with such calmness and confidence.
FilboFox Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I'm sorry but for a team with the players we have, that was UTTERLY SHITE!!! Aside from the first 10 minutes when we were in control and pushing forward, we were COMPLETELY lost and didn't even come close to challenging Plymouth. Hume put in quite a bit of effort which was nice to see although he was out of position, DJ Campbell did reasonably well up front and Clapham was good all game but aside from that, we were just lobbing the ball forward to Howard and hoping that he would nod it on for us... needless to say, it didn't work!!! Every time we had the ball, we just gave it straight away again and had we been up against a really good team, we could easily have lost by 4 or 5. Defensively, they just lobbed it forward and we couldn't deal with it at all... we are easy to play against as everyone knows how rubbish we are in the air. In the midfield, Clemence gave it away time and time again and we never looked like being able to make anything through them as we were just terrible. In attack, there was no supply but when there was, we wasted every opportunity by either shooting well wide from stupid positions or giving it back to them by fumbling. Finally, we were too slow. Every time we had a chance to spread it out onto the wings, Alnwick or anyone who had the ball held onto it for way too long and allowed the free men to be marked up which gave us no chance to get anything going at all... All in all... a TOTAL LOAD OF SHIT and Ollie has A LOT of work to do if we are to turn it around... playing like that, Yeovil Town next season anyone?
Staf Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Terrible. Ollie didn't look interested, he sat there with his arms folded most of the time and all this nonsense about not celebrating, your with us now Ollie, let's see that your committed to us. Not happy and it's not good enough. I agree i didnt think he was as interested as normal he just seem too sit there and not look not bothered like you say he is our manager now Ollie sort it out please
Darkzzz_ Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 What can we say here!!! Plymouth fans can have there gloat and they deserve it!! To be fair we would be doing the same wouldnt we.... We are very poor and things just have not changed have they!!! Yes Ollie is a nice chap, a very sound character but if we have to choose between winning football matches and keeping a entertainer in charge then i know which one i will have!! Although i dont want you to get me wrong here, sacking Ollie does not answer any questions... This club has suffered for years now, players now come here just to pick up there wages IMO, we used to be a right "in yer face" team but now we are just plain awfull and it hurts to see it...!!! We dont have any players, we have names and reputations who seem to fail when they pull on that jersey.... What happened to the heart of Steve Walsh, the passion of Matty Elliott and the creativity of Muzzy Izzet.. Yes i know these are in the past but why could we never replace these kind of players, but other clubs could??!! Sacking Ollie will just make things worse.... I will give him to the end of the season to keep us up, which is a great shame because i realy felt we would challenge for a playoff spot this year.... I dont think we have any bottle, we seem to start well then fade away, our boys get hit hard they dont bite back and they show there weekness. I am fed up with paying money to see this, its so depressing being a fan of this club at the moment!! Im not here blaming the pitch, im not here blaming anything but a poor football team who are letting the fans down, the fans who pay there hard earned cash to watch these perform... No excuses here Mr Holloway, as i said above i dont want him to be sacked because that would be the worst thing to do at this stage... I feel we have enough to stay up...I KNOW I KNOW!!! we shouldnt even be talking about anoher relegation scrape should we.... It just shows how much of a backwards step this club has taken!!! I hope and pray it turns around but playing like this looks like another very very disappointing season here for us!!
jbrommo Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I'm a Plymouth fan, and honestly find no reason to gloat!! Yes we had a hard earned victory, in which all honesty was not a good footballing game was it? It probably could have gone either way. As a big Ollie fan I think that you need to give he guy time to turn your club around, as good a manager as I think he is it isnt gonna turn around in such a small period of time. I was wondering what you think of Howard, to me he bullies lesser players than Timar, but do u honestly score goals without decent service?
