Mort Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 This a joke ? There is no way we want to lose Matty Fryatt. Why exactly do we want to keep him?... coz he's a "great prospect"? or is it all those goals he's scored or "created" for us recently? Lets be fair, Fryatt has be bellow par for us for the better part of three years! The constand hero-worship he get's is now beyond a joke!

Ashley Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I would rather keep Fryatt to be honest. No thanks Keano.
AyewJoking Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Its sods law Connolly would be prolific for us but I'd have to say no to this deal.
Father Ted Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Fryatt is still young, only 21 but if he doesn't improve his pace then he will never be good enough but if he got faster he could potentially be a very good goalscoring striker.
Thracian Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Twenty-five appearances 3 goals and 3 assists. That's really poor for a striker. Last season it was 4 goals from 34 appearances with just two assists. So a grand total in the last two seasons of 7 goals in 59 appearances and five assists. Last season lack of fitness was cited, this season what? He seems fit enough most of the time but Hume, for instance has more goals THIS 2/3rds of a season alone than Fryatt had in this season and last. And Hume more than trebled Fryatt's goalscoring tally last season so I don't think things like service come into it.

And also remember the fact that Hume spent majority of this season on the right wing, which makes his record quite impressive.
crisp monster Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 yes please DC has done it at this level Fryatt hasn't and i don't think he will
Jimmy Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I would like to know how many of Fryatt's appearances are as a substitute? I think a better ratio to use would be goals per minuets

Yet bizarrely some of the kop were still chanting da da da da, Matty Fryatt on Saturday, when we were 2-0 and 3-0 up and then when he came on (possibly justified then). 3-0 up with 10 to go and still chanting hi sname - b*ll*x. FRYATT = AVERAGE (Distinctly)
STUHILL Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 I would be interested in this deal at the end of the season with Fryatt having a few more 20minute appearances from the bench, or couple of starts etc, just to give him that one final chance!!! If he is still unable to make an impact, then Connolly could be like our Kevin phillips!! Altho, if we got offered 800k or more for fryatt, then I would take the money instead.
JadeFalcon Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 as far as i'm concerned we should take the wankers arm off, if he wants ANY of our players set a minimum of £4M, wants to screw US over for fullop ? well lets just return the favor
clazkel Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 But he has had his chance to score goals, his record just says it all really. I can't believe people saying they want Fryatt back in the team thinking he is going to be a completely different player. The team seemed well balanced on Saturday for the first time in a while and the forwards received good service. Fryatt would've score more goals i think if he had the support from the midfield that he should've been getting and spent less time going into midfield trying to create himself. Give Fryatt the service he needs, as i don't think he has received alot of decent service, and as a result hasn't scored as many goals as he should've I know he hasn't proved himself but he is young and i think him and the other young players are the future of the club and we need to keep them.
