I swear I gave you some advice before? I can't find the thread though. :dunno:

Sit ups are probably the most over-rated exercise there is. Carry on with them if you want to get a bad back and no abs. If you've got a swiss ball, then youll have abs of steel if you know how to use it properly ;)

You can overdo everything - but it'll never be my aim to have such a ridiculously extreme six-pack like Adam Ford does!

A thought as scary as female bodybuilders on Eurosport.

Yeah you did. My problem is far from being 'what exercise to do'. It's much more 'how do I establish a routine. It's so difficult when working long hours every day. I can choke the protein down , but I need to buckle down and get up at 6am everday before I can make use of it.

Yeh I totally understand what you mean.

It just depends on priority really. I go to work at 7.45am and get back around 6ish. On a mon and wed I go to the gym about half 7-9.30 and also on a saturday and sunday at random times. On the other days I just kick back and relax after work.

Dont you have time to do exercise after work at least once during the week? or perhaps a couple of times at the weekend?

I know you feel knackered after work, but once your actually at the gym then it's fine... I find anyway.

Start with something simple, and you'll be able to build it up. I bet you think you're in a "Catch 22", but you have to do things a bit at a time. Start with a ten minute walk, not too strenuous. After a couple of weeks or so, pick up the pace. Then increase the time. Set yourself goals, so that you might say, in a month's time, you'll be able to walk a mile.

Or swimming, it's good if you are very unfit, as the water supports your body, and places less stress on your joints. Pick a time like first thing in the morning, or last thing at night, when there are fewer people about if you feel embarrassed and/or you don't like people getting in your way!

You may find that as you start to lose the weight, your injury becomes less of a problem.

Before you start any exercise programme, make sure that you see your GP, who will check that what you are planning to do is ok, and s/he may also be able to give you some more tips, or put you in touch with people in a similar position to yourself.

You can do it; there was a guy at the last gym we went to who was around 25 stone when he started (but he was only about 5ft 8). After 18 months, he was down to about 17 stone. And because he was losing the weight steadily, he didn't have too much "baggy" skin either. Don't know how he's doing now, we moved gyms about 2 years ago!

Sorry, I'm a woman, you don't get a concise answer from a woman!!

Good luck, a lot of losing weight is mind over matter. If you ever need a friendly chat, feel free to PM me!
