davieG Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Link Crewe Alex keen on Leicester striker 10:35 February, 28, 2008 Matty Fryatt is a loan target for the League One club “We haven’t done anything yet, but it is certainly a possibility,” Crewe assistant manager Neil Baker told the Sentinel. “We have watched him this week and we think he is available. “I think if the lad was willing to come his club would let him go. “He’s played a lot and he’s not a kid, so he would offer some experience up there.”
The People's Hero Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 I think it would be a mistake to let him go but there again, he's hardly set the world alight, none of them have.
Master Fox Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Well if he can get a chance at Crewe then he should take it, because let’s be honest he’s not much better than Vauxhall Conference level
davieG Posted 28 February 2008 Author Posted 28 February 2008 I think it would be a mistake to let him go but there again, he's hardly set the world alight, none of them have. As you say none of them have, would Crewe do a wholesale swap as we'll soon be in League 1 anyway.
Maybes Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Let him go to them I say(Loan). If he does well then we can have him back.

Joe. Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Let him go for a bit, he needs it really. I'm still not convinced he's good enough for us and haven't been for a long time really. First team football is what he needs and if he can get that at Crewe we'd surely be crazy to turn it down?
lildave3 Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 No problems with him going on loan at all. Not too many problems with him going full time either tbh.
breadandcheese Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 I still think that at a better team, he would be a good forward to have. We've had many different forwards, all of whom have looked pretty sh*te. I don't think that's a coincidence and put it down to the inability to create chances. I have a feeling he could be another Cresswell. Bought for a fee, leaves us for peanuts, becomes a £1 million player and performs well at this level.
lildave3 Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Why hasn't anyone come in for Sappleton? Because they're afraid. Very afraid.
irememberwellerstights Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Division 3 player playing in Division 3 sounds about right to me.
Guest Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Why hasn't anyone come in for Sappleton? Didn't Man U make an offer a while back for Sapplezilla?

Staf Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Like i said in another thread i would like to see him in the first team but this would be a good oppurtunity for him to gain confidence and start scoring again.
Lovejoy Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Like i said in another thread i would like to see him in the first team but this would be a good oppurtunity for him to gain confidence and start scoring again. Yeah he needs the opportunity tbh. His chances here are clearly going to be limited, so to get a run would do him and his confidence the world of good.
act smiley Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 I think it makes sense, give him a good chance to turn things around as he's obviously got some ability even if he's not really using it at the minute. Don't think selling is a good idea though, but the loan is probably a good idea.
Father Ted Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Well, if Dario Gradi wanted him then... there must be something that we are all missing here with Fryatt.
MC Prussian Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Well, if Dario Gradi wanted him then... there must be something that we are all missing here with Fryatt. Somebody get me a certain Mr. Ian Holloway on the phone. Quick!
Jimmy Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Well, if Dario Gradi wanted him then... there must be something that we are all missing here with Fryatt. that he needs to be given more then 3 games at a time to get going? before he got that red card he was playing well and starting to look a lot sharper, since he's gone back to hardly playing
clazkel Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 that he needs to be given more then 3 games at a time to get going? before he got that red card he was playing well and starting to look a lot sharper, since he's gone back to hardly playing Yes i totally agree with that! It is no good playing him afew games at a time, he needs a good run in the team like he was having before Howard and Hayles arrived at the club, and he was looking sharper and was creating alot. Give him a chance and he will prove his worth imo
Thracian Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 He'll get better coaching at Crewe. I'd imagine coaching standards are very high at Crewe. They do seem able to develop players who even play well when they get to the first team. But then Crewe show some faith in them and don't cast em aside first excuse that comes along.
accessory Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 Well, if Dario Gradi wanted him then... there must be something that we are all missing here with Fryatt. Dario Gradi doesn't manage Crewe anymore.
Thracian Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 Well, if Dario Gradi wanted him then... there must be something that we are all missing here with Fryatt. Even were he still manager, there's a world of difference between Dario Gradi's approach to playing football and ours.
