OLLIE OUT?

There could be another little matter why MM has not already axed IH - 3 half year contract. MM was very fortunate at pompey he had one of the shrewest managers in the country in HR otherwise i think he would have got quite a few in there.Who was the french guy he took on he was going to be the best thing since sliced bread but he only lasted a few months.

I think there could be a problem getting a top class coach in at city because i think MM wants to much of a say in the management of the playing side of the club like the signing of Lee Hendry i am sure that was one of MM choices. But having said that i think he could be a good asset if he gives his all.

No-one can second guess what MM is up to next. One thing's for sure though, should we get nothing from Cardiff or Preston, IH is in big trouble. Having said that, he shouldn't be in line for the sack, some of the players should. Some of them have been a disgrace.

As Ash said on here 'BILLY DAVIES I TELL YA!!!'

Some of the players sacked. Ollies the one who plays them and should be motivating them. Bye Bye Ollie, only a few days to go.

Part of being a good footballer and 'a professional' is to 1) wear the shirt with pride and realise what playing for LCFC is all about 2) putting in bags of passion and effort each and every game 3) a never said die attitude etc etc.

Motivation comes from the self. It doesn't all come from the manager.

If you're not performing at work and you turn round and say, 'oh sorry, the boss isn't motivating me, sack him' - who in all seriousness would take this line of approach? Add that to the fact that 'these professionals' earn £10 000 a week and quite frankly, it's a disgrace.

Sack 'em!

It just seems with Ollie that it's one excuse after another. Penalties, bad luck, pitches etc.

Instead of blaming 'external' forces, it's time to get a run together, particularly away from home.

He's had some money to spend - ideally he wants time to get it together but we need results now and then rebuild if we stay in this division.

If Ollies 20 games in charge had been the first 20 of the season he would certainly have been sacked. The fact he's the 3rd already this season means MM will cut him some slack though I bet he's not best pleased.

If we should lose the next two matches c/w poor perfomancies I think it's a cert he'll be gone.''

i think this is the case too!

he does deserve some slack given all the previous shennanigans but how much slack?

come on leicester. a performance and a win today please!!! please!!!

FFF

If they had been the first 20 games of the season then Ollie would of had a pre season and would of had a say in ALL the players signed.

Taking over a club in trouble mid-season is not easy and expecting things to turn around instantly is just stupid. Ollie has signed the best players available in January, some were panic buys.

Does anybody really think that changing managers yet again is really going to turn things around instantly?

Change wont guarantee success but I think it's fair to say, whatever went before and given the resources that Ollie has he's significantly under performed. After 20 games we should not be in a worse league position with inferior results than when he took over.

No one's saying he should have had us in the play-offs but where we are is totally unacceptable, no excuses can justify his performance as manager.

I'm not necessarily advocating change but if he goes he has only himslef to blame!

I'm starting to agree with that. We are at a time now where there really aren't any more excuses to be had. He has had the transfer window and enough time to get them playing the way he wants. I'm not asking for miracles here, I never expected him to go on a massive winning streak this season, but maybe a few more wins, or even some better performances than we've been getting. Excuses don't count anymore, he has to deal with any problems and if he doesn't and performances don't improve and show promise for the future, then he too will lose his job and it will be mainly his fault. I will support him all the way, but I'm not buying into anymore excuses!!

The Henderson thing says it all to me about Holloway as a manager.

Alnwick gets injured and reserve keeper Henderson gets a rare chance to deputise.

He's a bit rusty and what he really needs is his confidence boosting sky high in any little way the club can think of.

Taken overall the guy's not often let us down. He's got his weaknesses like everyone else but he's had one or two outstanding games and has mostly done his job acceptably enough.

If Holloway, deep down, didn't feel he was good enough for the first team because of the few snippets of action he's seen from him then he'd every right - misguided or not - to enquire after an alternative.

But in failing to get that alternative why, why, why would he go public about it?

Henderson's probably coming up to the end of his time at City. How pissed off will it make him to realise Holloway didn't really have faith in him even as a deputy?

And the last thing I'd want in my team is a pissed off goalkeeper.

Especially as we might need him Tuesday and even beyond that.

If Henderson proves the hero today, which I sincerely hope he does, it will say stacks about his character and integrity.

And so therefore he should play out of his skin either to keep his place or impress attending scouts.

We can only hope :dunno:

I would have thought there were plenty of ways of motivating players, especially from someone renowned for his motivating skills other than to publically humiliate the guy by declaring, one way or another that he aint good enough for a team 20th in the Division 2. Which he may not be on a consistent basis but that we need him to be for the next few games.

QPR away, just a recent example.

Not ideal phraseology - now amended to take account of the maches mentioned. And the sunderland home game when he threw one out to give a goal away.

I'm not saying you can't see WHY he was a reserve. :D

Just that seeeing as we've got to use him he hardly needs his confidence knocked beforehand.

It's funny how goalkeeper errors seem so many and so awful in print.

I wonder how long a thread would be if I put all of McAuley and Kisnorbo's misplaced passes down or the shots Clemence has missed the target with etc.

Less criminal than being at fault for a goal though as goalkeepers usually are if make mistakes. Clemence missing an open goal from 6 yards, and you may get the same kinda response!

Some of those needlessly misplaced passes do cost goals.

And it would be nice if Clemence ever got within six yards of goal.

Their plusses outweigh their minuses by a very large margin. So a very bad example you provided.

Kisnorbo and Mac that is.

To me having two such centre-backs is part of our problem. But that's not going to change in general.

Yeah fair play. I really, really want him to succeed here and i just hope he turns it around. I think he's a decent manager but it's so unfortunate for everyone that he came when he did and in that awful manner that the Plymouth fans made it.

Even if were relegated i'd hope to keep him on. Milan's mistakes at the start of the season are the reason why where are where we are (RK)

If we were to drop down a division there's no other man I'd want to revive us, he'd bring us back 100 times stronger than we are now. But let's hope we pull it off and start another rebuild again with Ollie as manager in the championship!!

Now, try telling me Preston isn't a huge game! Let's make it happen down the Walkers on Tuesday night.
