Danglo Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 11 yrs ago today we drew 1-1 at Selhurst Park against Wimbledon to take us to Wembley for the first time since 69 in a cup final the team that night Leicester City (3-5-2): Keller; Prior, Walsh, Watts; Lawrence (Taylor, 105), Lennon, Parker, Izzet, Grayson; Heskey, Claridge (Robins, 119). Substitute not used: Poole (gk). If you could only take one player from the team that night, to play in our current shite who would it be and why? For me.. Claridge... he scored. simple as that..
Webbo Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 What's the point of these threads? We were good then and we're shit now. We all know, get over it.
coale39 Posted 11 March 2008 Posted 11 March 2008 Claridge - he'd actually put the ball in the net. Its got to be aint it.

Thracian Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Heskey no question. It took two men to mark him and that made space for others. He was a real handful for everyone and damned useful defending set pieces too. Even now I'd love to have him back.
FilboFox Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Heskey! I LOVED the beast! He was a legend for us here! Aside from that, this is exactly what Ollie was talking about... we STILL look to the past and hence why we expect so much from our team now even when clearly they just aren't good enough.

Muzzy was brilliant i know but if it was just one player we could have back it would be Heskey. I even dare say that he would work well with Fryatt.
lildave3 Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Seeing as my favourite ever City player is in there, logically it has to be him. Come on Bruno. Come home Bruno

Who knows.. if wigan get relegated and we stay up we might get our wish and see him return to the hallowed turf!
bigneville Posted 12 March 2008 Posted 12 March 2008 Scott Taylor. That man has skills to pay the bills. Pure quality in my eyes (not many others i'll add)
