Phlashman Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Just to add a Cloud to this silverlining. After todays results, we mathimatically can't go up in the automatic places. It's play-off only now!
Legend_in_blue Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008

Holloway carn't complain about no luck...the lucky barsta*d got it all in one game...(ANY DECENT TEAM) should be able to get goals against a team of 9. I was really hoping this would of been his last game as City manager... This is just a delay the guy is SHITE and the sooner he goes the better.. There's no pleasing some people is there? For crying out loud man, cut the crap! OLLIE'S ARMY!!! OLLIE'S ARMY!!! Get behind the team man! Pillock? I didn't say that...
ASH17LCFC Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 I have slated and slagged Ollie off alot on here but you gotta say fair play to him today and well done for a great win and putting a smile back on my face. Keep it up lads.

The word was that Holloway would have been out if we'd lost. But he got the tactics right today, and also had a touch with the sending-off and the penalty. But this result and the one at home to Watford shows we shouldn't have to fear anybody in this league. Let's pray this is not yet another false dawn, but instead the springboard for a winning run which will take us to safety.

Messi Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Oh did anyone video the penalty on their phone ?? Or am i the only one sad enough to do it i did and i didnt see nobody sitting in your seat unless you was in number 25
Mack Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Thank god Holloway dropped Campbell.. Means well / works hard; but is a lower league player Given our inconsistent form who knows what Leicester team will show up next weekend We are not safe by a long chalk Trying to force our squad into a 4-4-2 formation has not worked and I hope he continues with the change If Hume continues to blow hot and cold maybe the bench is the best place for him? WBA had 10 men The Championship is an exiting but unpredictable league and anyone can beat anyone on their day Fryatt should keep his starting place

Great result for the lads, but will only mean something if we can follow it up with a win against Hull.

Lillehamring Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 well, i said i would stop listening and we'd win, and we did... so looks like radio boycott for me til we're safe... but gutted our internet was out til an hour ago, been dying to read about the game, as well... just goes to show the difference a week can make, we picked up +8 GD on southampton in the space of 90 mins. i think people who are still predicting relegation should focus less on SWeds and their games in hand and more on cov, norwich and southampton, on form they must be favs to drop. can't see the bottom two catching us now, either.

Thracian Posted 17 March 2008 Posted 17 March 2008 Thank god Holloway dropped Campbell.. Means well / works hard; but is a lower league playerGiven our inconsistent form who knows what Leicester team will show up next weekend We are not safe by a long chalk Trying to force our squad into a 4-4-2 formation has not worked and I hope he continues with the change If Hume continues to blow hot and cold maybe the bench is the best place for him? WBA had 10 men The Championship is an exiting but unpredictable league and anyone can beat anyone on their day Fryatt should keep his starting place How do you know Campbell wouldn't have scored a hat-trick in the circumstances of West Brom losing players and after so much emphasis on finishing during the training sessions. Seemed to me that we were sharper as an attacking force all round, right back to left wing-back Mattock. Howard did better because the ball ws played to him on the floor. I can't see Campbell would have minded that. And Campbell has all the attributes needed to score against reduced numbers. I'm much more sympathetic about your comments on the system. Several of us have suggested a change because we don't have the personnel to operate 4-4-2 effectively. And, more important, because no two strikers we have are quite good enough to breach loaded defences consistently. Having three tips the balance and that doubtless contributed to Howard's improved performance Saturday. Doubtless Campbell would have benefitted too. Others did. This I should emphasise is not a campaign for Campbell against Howard. They are different players both with their own strengths. Howard's goals return per number of games played makes a statement in itself but he's also had a fair proportion of bad games. If we continue playing three strikers I wouldn't greatly care which we chose. We'd be a greater threat whatever because what Saturday demonstrated was that if you put more attacking potential on the park you'll get more people attacking the box and have more chance of scoring goals. It just surprises me we've taken so long to figure that out.
