Messi Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 According to the daily mirror we are trying to sign him, would thid be loan or for next season? great player though in this or league 1! i think it would be pointless to get him on loan this late into the season but hopefully next year we will be able to get him permanently
Thracian Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Nothing against him but it's so Leicester City. If we've got a problem with players our flippant response is to sign someone else. Why don't we ever get the problem players to start performing? Because every new player in means another disgruntled player on the sidelines and that really doesn't help team spirit at a time when it should probably be the most important asset of all.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 If we talking about Emile Mpenza it would be a good signing that would do fcuk all for us courtesy of the Leicester City curse

I think the use of loans should be cut back to the bare minimum it's got entirely out of hand.
Asha Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Agreed, even at the beginning of the season most teams resort to loans rather than permanent signings. I say there should be a limit, say 4 a season or something.

Agreed, it's farcical. I doubt Mprenza would want to come anyway, I can't imagine Etuhu is giving us a glowing report, Sven or Holloway?
Nick Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Manchester City striker Emile Mpenza is wanted by Leicester. (Daily Mirror) -from BBC Sport Gossip Column. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emile_Mpenza http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0qzsrzN8TCI http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6t2FhIf0kY&...feature=related He looks spent very average and a one trick pony will slot into the squad just fine. And he's called Emile which has to be worth 10k a week.
Asha Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Doesn't matter how much you look at records, Emile Mpenza is a better proven striker than DJ Campbell.
Darkzzz_ Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 I would have him, but i am not interested in talk of players until we know our situation for next season. I would rather have Jermaine Beckford

MPH Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 im willing to give him a go if it means saving our season!
Asha Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 well i think we have been trying to get the problem players to perform for the last 20 or so games and it hasnt been working.... Not really, we've made 7 loan signings. But I agree. Too late for anyone else to make an impact though. This is our squad, let's get on with it.
MikeyT Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 im willing to give him a go if it means saving our season! Too right!

Isn't it just the same with managers thracian...?
STUHILL Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Isn't it just the same with managers thracian...? OMG was going to say exact same thing, you beat me to it!!
Guest shearfox Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 We need goals now and this guy is better than anyone we have and hopefully sign him permanently when he keeps us in the league.
wirralsimon Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 We need goals now and this guy is better than anyone we have and hopefully sign him permanently when he keeps us in the league. I disagree. I think it is these constant quick fixes that have had a lot to do with why we are in the state we are in. The players we have are good enough to get us out of the trouble we are in, and we should be concertrating on getting them to play properly rather than adding yet more players to the squad. Simon
Guest Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Not really, we've made 7 loan signings. But I agree. Too late for anyone else to make an impact though. This is our squad, let's get on with it. How did you work that one out with 6 games still to go? I'd rather that we get our current squad performing consistently but let's face it, it hasn't happened so far and the likelihood of that changing in the next 6 games is remote. Anything that may save our season I'm well up for trying
Thracian Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Isn't it just the same with managers thracian...? I would only want one manager in a long time. I'd just have made sure I chose a good one. Like Paul Ince or Simon Grayson. Then we wouldn't have got in this mess to begin with.
