Bellend Sebastian Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 How did David Bell do??We could have done with him today in our game, we had no width!! Awfull conditions aswell....To go with a defeat!! Ah well least City won. He wasn't great to start with, wasn't on the same wavelength to start with and failed to beat the first man with a couple of corners, but did improve as the game went on. Put in a couple of really good crosses
Kilworthfox Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 He wasn't great to start with, wasn't on the same wavelength to start with and failed to beat the first man with a couple of corners, but did improve as the game went on. Put in a couple of really good crosses I would have liked to see him have a real go at a full back. That is what a proper winger does. i reserve judgement. Corners were poor.
Flexx Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Their manager seems a nice bloke. Just read this on their website from yesterday. "They (Leicester) have got some very good football players. They are well-financed, and I know because I tried to get a few players on loan and we could not get anywhere near the wages - and these are for reserve team players."So it just shows how well we have done as a football club to be competing with, and being so close to, Leicester City." Reminds me of Rob Kelly haha.

Bryn Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 To be fair he's hardly wrong. Looking forward to a lot of selling in the summer. Feel quite confident that we'll stay up - I think we'll beat Colchester and nick a few draws.
reynard Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Can't say I have felt that relieved at the end of a match for quite some time. The result is all that matters now but we were far from great although in short spells we did try to play some good stuff. In response to quite a few questions concerning players imo Bell was very ordianary first half but really settled in hte second half and put in some decent crosses. Hope it is not the typical 1 good performance syndrome our players have. Howard was quite good today. held the ball up well and forced the keepr into 1 great save in the first half. Weso Sorry but I was dissappointed in him today. looked off the pace and I thought it was the correct decision to replace him. He always tries but he produces little. Fryatt awful misses or great saves? Should definitely have scored with the header but the others were good saves for me. He's a far far better player than Dj but his lack of pace is against him and his goalscoring record an embarrasment. Hendrie pretty much the only consistent class act on the pitch. As for S****horpe well probably the most limited and in terms of quality poor side I have seen in many years. so great result but I think we will have to play a lot better than that to stay up. They looked a first div side playing 1st div style football so let's hope we stay up because that is what we would have to get used to week in week out.
Fox You Forest Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 3pts very much needed. was a decent performance nothing special. There goalkeeper was top notch today MOM for me. For leicester Stearman and Bell looked decent as a twosome (threesome if you include Raj blowing kisses at them all match). Did anybody find it funny when Weso was rolling round on the floor trying to head the ball and looking like a seal?
The Stig Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I put £2 on Lee Hendrie to be first goal scorer. Won £28 so I'm bloody pleased. As for the game, we're not safe yet and remember how inconsistant we are.
MC Prussian Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 What a relief this score is... for now. Still worried that the team might fook this season up by getting the club relegated. Lee Hendrie's developing into some sort of new cult hero... thinking of the fans who thought he'd be no good for us because of his history, I think we've made a great signing. One of the few I'd keep on a permanent should we stay in this division. I say "should", because the worries are not yet over and it's still mathematically possible that we could go down... We need at least two more wins out of the remaining five fixtures. Glad to see we finally broke that Walkers Jinx and won it at home for once. And by the sounds of it the score margin could've been much larger. I didn't want to follow this match on Match Live Console because I've gotten really disappointed over the past few games/seasons and thought it'd do me more good if I went out and followed one of my local teams that is doing pretty well this season. Had a splendid afternoon out with a mate of mine as we watched SV Schaffhausen thrash FC Herisau by 4-1. Keep them wins coming and well done to the lads today! (If only it was like this on a more regular basis)
AyewJoking Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Scunny were woeful. Even Howard looked good against them. Despite being the better team we only scraped a win but it was all about 3 points so well done lads, still a lot of work to do though.
clazkel Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Well done lads, everyone showed commitment, lets go and hammer Sheffield next Sat. A well fought win, the ref stopped the game too much tho!
Joe. Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Absolutely vital win on a day that quite a few results went our way. It may be a bit of restbite but we're still in the deep stuff, just sitting two points above the drop zone. It really should have been at least 3 or 4 today, we had some quality chances and but for Joe Murphy it would have been more. Can't grumble with the 1-0, we got what we needed but we'll need to finish better in the upcoming games.

Joe. Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 That's why you don't come up. Yeah I thought I'd stay in the mighty C2 today seeing as we were doing alright.....
Kilworthfox Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Leicester 1-0 S****horpe Lee Hendrie scored his first goal for Leicester to give the Foxes a vital win over fellow strugglers S****horpe. The former Aston Villa midfielder curled in a sublime shot past keeper Joe Murphy and in off the post. Murphy also kept out a header from striker Steve Howard and three efforts from Matty Fryatt. Nigel Adkins' visitors tried vailiantly in strong winds but their best effort came from the boot of Ian Morris whose volley flew narrowly over the post. Interview: Ian Holloway on Bell signing Make your Championship predictions # Leicester boss Ian Holloway: "There are other teams in massive trouble. More than us. "If you look at our run-in it is in our own hands with the teams we've got to come here. "I don't believe that we are not going to win two games in a row this season but one more might do it." # S****horpe boss Nigel Adkins: "We are still in there but we are under no illusions that it is an uphill battle. "Mathematically we still have a chance to stay in the Championship and we will keep going. "We need to win the last six - there's no hiding that but stranger things have happened. Some of our players aren't good enough to play at this level." Leicester: Henderson, Stearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Mattock, Bell, Oakley, Hendrie (Laczko 90), Wesolowski (Clemence 59), Fryatt, Howard, Clemence (N'Gotty 68). Att: 22,165 Ref: Rob Shoebridge (Derbyshire).
Micky Ruddle Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I'll take the 3 points. Anything to move away from the drop zone. Bring on the blades.

Fox You Forest Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Wow! He didn't cheat! He was also the fairest Ref we've had for a couple of months and he's from Derby He seemed to enjoy blowing his whistle alot though.
The Reverend Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Wow! He didn't cheat! He was also the fairest Ref we've had for a couple of months and he's from Derby Are you taking the piss? He was dire!
The Stig Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Bit harsh. Yes, but he should have let the game flow more. Too picky at times though.
lildave3 Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Yes, but he should have let the game flow more. Too picky at times though. Probably. Dire's a bit far though!
The Reverend Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Bit harsh. Depends on how you look at it, dires quite kind to me. Some of the refs we've had this season have been absolutely diabolical. Now THAT, is a proper insult! As someone said though, he was ridiculously picky was giving fould for everything, must have been about 100 ''fouls'' in thay game. Joke.
