The Kop is certainly the place to be at the Way. Hand waving and referee abusing galore. As well as strength in numbers beating the stewards acting on Kevin's orders. It's awesome. I wouldn't dream of being anywhere else.

Why not just let people support their club how ever they wan`t to, I like to sing, but only songs that I like and when I feel like it, constant singing gets on my nerves and stops me concentrating on the game, there are songs that I will never ever join in with, ie we hate nottingham or any other song that has sod all to do with the game, get into em fcuk em up, the players hate it, I hate it and it is moronic, that new Holloway la la la la la song, what ON EARTH is that one, what is the tune ? I would like all the morons to move over to L1 where they can constantly sing crap, stand up, slag off the team and generally act the twat as far away from me as is humanly possible !

You effing hypocrite

Fair play to Colchester United. Although they've put ticket prices up...

U's To Include Unreserved Seating

To help ease the transition from terracing to seating, the club are delighted to offer two sections of unreserved seating in the new ground.

Fans buying season tickets in these two sections (North Stand, Block N5 and East Stand, Block E1) are buying a seat in that area, but will be able to sit anywhere within that block on a game to game basis.

All of which makes life a lot easier if you want to bring your mates along!

And...

Throughout the club's time at Layer Road, Colchester United's supporters made the atmosphere one of the best in the Football League.

Indeed, the U's supporters were voted as the Loudest Fans In The League during a special competition run at the start of the 2006/7 season by the Football League.

Whilst we hope that the singing will continue around the ground at the new stadium, the club have identified the North Stand as a singing section where the more vocal supporters may wish to congregate.

To encourage a vibrant atmosphere in this area, dubbed the "Noisy North", the North Stand is one of two sections in the ground to include an U18s discounted price, along with the wings of the West Stand.

Actually listening to fans views and understanding concerns with modern day stadiums. Shows it can be done.

I commend Colchester United Football Club.

Okay they are getting relegated, but they will reap the rewards of listening to the fans.

Well played Colchester. It just goes to show that it can be done and that not all clubs are against the idea.

Wish it could be done at the Walkers, not likely though. :(

I used to love the kop in the Filbo days (when I were a lad).

Why has no one mentioned the fact that the kop has now merged with the double decker??? When did the double decker ever provide raucous volume and therefore why is it expected now??

The kop was decent, but half of the people left and the rest have mingled in with double deckeroonies, so what do you expect....

Until the 'voices of the people' can persuade the hierachy to allow non reserved seating (a la Colchester) or the mass movement of seats behind one of the goals, then we're fooked.

That, and the dire football, there is no chance of a decent atmos. Deal with it.

Give me a D.....

What is good about the kop though is that if you have had a drink too many on the Friday night, you can sit down and recover in [relative] silence on saturday afternoon :teehee: .

I only joust with people I deem worthy. Being a warrior is tough. I can’t battle everyone. You need to earn the right to do battle with me. HA!
