Basingstoke Fox Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 lots more sex Your saying young people should have better things to do. That wont help them
SantiagoFox Posted 2 April 2008 Posted 2 April 2008 I agree with most of what has been said, apart from the sex - health and safety wouldn't stomach it (!). The younger fans (and some of us older ones too) usually like to gather together and enjoy a decent atmosphere, one that the crowd itself creates. I can't even celebrate a goal properly as I'm supposed to prance around to chelsea dagger. In the "good old days", after celebrating it was a question of timing to get the first song going for the whole end. Now you're supposed to have a quick clap-a-long and sit down again. Stewards being over the top, no standing, reserved seats, controlling music - it all adds up to a crap atmosphere, and would dampen anything even if we were winning. The young kids that come in for free get to sample this, and when they're older they're not going to be so bothered about coming. Every year it seems to get worse. Away matches can be better if enough folks turn up. Maybe a new broom will turn up and actually listen to us. Here's hoping!
lcfc81 Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 I'm expecting my first kid on March 11th It is going to be a girl. I just wondered what people would advise to do to ensure she supports Leicester like me and her mother? Also what action would be appropriate if she does something daft like turn to the sheep or trees (this worries me greatly) I think she already likes footie as she always kicks when we listen to away matches on the radio or watch match of the day.

Bert Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 I'm proud to say I've converted a Liverpool fan in the past few weeks, and that I'm halfway to converting a Man Utd fan. Kids will believe anything.

When she's old enough to understand, threaten to put her up for adoption if she even contemplates supporting another team. It's the only way to be a good father.

Guest Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 It's quite easy really; just make sure that you expose the child to as much City stuff as possible. Take advantage of the kiddies parties, meeting the players and Filbert is great, even if they don't actually go to the game.
Webbo Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 Keep taking her to matches until she gets the notion of supporting another team out of her head. Didn't work with my girls.

Daggers Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 My girl refuses to ever come to a match again. She wants to go see HSM On Ice. The boy will only come if he gets given a big bag of sweets and a ham cob in the pub. In truth he only comes because he is still trying to work out why his Dad goes. Saturday didn't help him reach an answer at all and he said he'd rather have been at home doing some cooking.

Daggers Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 That would be one step too far. I'm a mild mannered Dad but I'd kick the crap out of him if he ever came home with a Wii.

Head Honcho Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 I see that many of you like me have tried to introduce young family members to Leicester City F.C.I am sorry to say that for a young fan nowadays, The match experiance is boring. Lets face it if they don't understand the game they end up sitting there in a quiet place on a cold seat watching people running around and they don't know quite why. On top of that they see people standing at the back and singing loudly seemingly enjoying themselves but they don't understand why. The club in it's effort to comply with F.A directives on safety have ruined the game for children. The atmosphere is dire and that translates to the kids. I remember the anticipation of the game and i knew it would be exciting and enjoyable because of teh football and the chanting and the standing a feeling of togetherness. I appreciate that the football experiance would be better if what they were watching was better which we all want that. I know the club have made efforts with free tickets and cheap offers but if what they are being served up is boring then children will not go what ever the price. It seems that the game, and the club are making decisions that are not to the benefit of fans or the club. Kids and don't want to go and that does not bode well for the future of our 32000 seater stadium. After reading several of your posts lately you seem to have lost your enthusiasm for the game. Football isn't just about being in the premiership as I'm sure you're aware and some saturdays our results can be not what we expect but football is football at the end of the day you either love it or hate it! The game is the same now as it was before internet forums started slagging the game off!
Lovejoy Posted 31 October 2008 Posted 31 October 2008 My little brother is coming to his 3rd game tomorrow ! As he's five, and I'm nineteen, I just wish people would stop thinking I'm his foobing Dad  ! That old geezer really is his dad!!! EDIT: Btw, he loves Ronaldo and Rooney, but the fact that his brother and dad support LCFC make them a much more attrctive proposition in the eyes of a 5 year old . His mates are well jealous !
