I would personally love him to sign for us, but they seem to think he is unpredictable and maybe if we signed him he will lose some of his enthusiam as he wont have as much to prove! Maybe part of that was sour grapes that he was leaving but I reckon there are genuine concerns about his enthusiasm and whether that would be maintained on a proper contract. Hmm... Probably worth the risk I reckon.

Matt Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 Well going on what's been said and what most people's fear are (i.e - Once he's got his contract, feet under the table the hard jobs done and he can ease off the passion, proving himself, e.t.c) he'll certainly fit in with the current crop of players we have...Hopefully in the summer we'll get rid of some/if not all these current lazy, overpaid bastards though. Hopefully what's been said and people's fears for him are wrong. I always liked him at Villa as a player, ever since i've not really heard much about him (At Stoke or Sheffield Utd) I thought he bagged a few goals while playing at Stoke but not sure, and don't think he's really played that much for Sheffield Utd but as I say not really took too much notice. You can only judge a player on current form, and on current form he deserves a contract.

Ric Flair Posted 1 April 2008 Posted 1 April 2008 We were rumoured to have offered him nearly £20,000 a week to join us in the summer, so £15,000 will hardly be baulked at by Mandaric and Holloway. Not sure i'd pay that myself, he's worth perhaps £500,000 a year if he plays a season at a level he has been doing for us.
