ok so mathematicly its still very much possible and its still in our own hands. but can you see us matching sheff weds and beat them at home? thats what we really need to do.obviously it wopuld be nice to win all our remaining games but come on, we havnt won two in a row al season so why are we going to magicallly win 4 in a row now?

still gotta keep the faith or omething like that but its really looking like a close run in :unsure:

We beat Weds 2-0 away, and 4 wins are certainly not what required to keep us in this division. Win our home games and we'll be okay. I know that there have been some surprises in this division but the reason teams are down there is because they are not consistent, and they won't win that many games either.

Win at the weekend and that table looks a whole lot brighter.

the table does that though. one win against scunny and we looked ok and one game later were back ini the drop zone. if it carries on like that and comes down to the last game of the season then were down!!!

We'll beat Sheff W on the last day of the season and send them down in an open flowing game of attractive football played in a relaxed atmosphere.

Maybe not!

Definitely not as we play Stoke.

We're like a fish on a hook. We rush for the reeds and get hauled in, then make another straining bid for freedom only to be frustrated again.

So much effort has been expended trying to escape oblivion over recent years that it almost feels like we're exhausted and are finally losing the will to continue.

Maybe there'll still be one more mighty swish of the tail but whether it will be enough to tear ourselves clear of the vicious barbs now gripping us I'm afraid I have my doubts.

Trouble is we don't seem to have learned from our experiences and the cold slab is looming ever larger.

I've quietly believed we would go down since the Charlton game. Wilfully squandering those two points was asking for trouble. Some things seem inevitable - almost like they're written.

There's little more that can be said.

I could just do with being wrong.

Even a change of luck would be welcome.

Very very slim now.

If we even Draw on Saturday its over.

Bollocks. We have 4 games left.

If you've noticed other teams have woken up and smelt the coffee and started to grind out results.

While were still trudging along getting further and further away from them.

It's in our hands though mate. We have two teams we should beat. And we have a vastly superior goal difference to most around where we are.

And we have had a vastly superior goal difference to most around where we are.

Down to -2, and Wednesday are on -4... it's not offering us the padding it was until a few weeks ago.

Exactly. We'd probably be up to around 18th or 19th and everyone will be saying that we're favourites to stay up!

However, there's no point in predicting how many points other teams will get because it is just impossible. 7 Points from our next 3 games will give us a chance going into the last day.

Correction - there are THREE teams we should beat. And it's not beyond possibility we could win at Stoke too.

Let's remind ourselves of the results in the reverse fixtures:

Colchester 1 Leicester 1

Leicester 2 Barnsley 0

Sheff W 0 Leicester 2

Leicester 1 Stoke 1

Remember also that these results were achieved when the team were under the rule of the dead hand of Megson and his henchmen, with less depth than will be available in the next four games.

Even given the shock result last night, it would still take an act of mind-blowing ineptitude to take us down from this position.

Unfortunately, the manager in charge for these critical clashes has already demonstrated on numerous occasions that he is more than capable of that.

the sides at the top cannot be relied on to make life tough in their fixtures against our relegation rivals as anyone looks capable of beating anyone else (last night's result in the barnsley watford game was terrible for us) .

Think we will draw v Colchester and Barnsley and lose the other 2. We have looked like relegation fodder for most of the last couple of seasons and really believe we are f***ed now.

Crunch time guys. I'm quite glad I'll be out of the country and in the middle of nowhere at the end of the season!

I'm hoping for a great atmosphere on Saturday and a hearty win. We need it so so desperately. Failing to win on Saturday doesn't relegate us, no, but it will put us in a situation stickier than when sticky the stick insect got stuck in a sticky bun.

Well at least he had a sticky bun.
