Calzaghe is the best British Fighter we have had for years and years. He doesn't get the respect or recognition he deserves, I wish Hopkins was 5-10 years younger because Calzaghe would still serve him up.

He's a credit to boxing Calzaghe is.

Thats 100% true.

But he lacks the big name victories to his name and this is his first visit to USA to fight.

This is the only thing holding him back in being labelled a legend in the eyes of the Non Brits and most improtantly the US pay per viewers(thats where the big bucks is at!)

You are absolutely right there Raj. I have no doubts whatsoever though that had there been any big name fighters there for him to take on at any given time, that the man would be seen as a boxing legend. I hope he get's his limelight after Saturday night.

There's probably 2 fights left for him after Saturday if he wins. If he loses I can see him retiring, but a loss is highly unlikely IMO. But I have been known to be wrong on many occasions! :crylaugh:

Boring fact but i wnet to MEN arena about 10 years ago to see Tyson fight.

On the undercard were Hatton,Joey,Michael Gomez and a lad called Tikaloo

Out of all the 4 Brits Joey looked to worst and laboured to a points win(I think it was points!)

To think now all these years on he is one of the most succesfull Brit Boxers ever!( Dont forget Benn and Eubanks!)

Four or five months ago I was massively up for this. When they did the initial press conferences it dawned on me I actually cared more about this than the Grand Slam. Now it's finally come around I feel really deflated, tbh. Hopkins is a knackered, shadow of his prime and Joe's coming to the advent of his career. If Calzaghe can't win it'll undo years of good work and, however good B-Hop MAY have been once, be a total embarrassment.

It isn't a boxing spectacle at all, it's a shallow money spinner. Hope he wins, though, not just for Joe or for Wales or the sport - but because Hopkins is a mouthy, smug, condescending ****.

That seem's to be a regular occurance with these american boxers. Though in fairness i think the brits give as good as they get.

Both are past there prime and I am getting increasingly worried for Joe as his type of boxing suits a young or peak aged fighter but I still think he will win if his hands dont start playing up again.

BTW yes it is on Sir Tan Tah

Anyone know if you can just make a one off payment to watch this fight like you do with sky box office, or do you have to fully subscribe to satanta ?

Don't really know but I think you can subscribe for a month at something like £9.99. :dunno:
