Leicester City boss Ian Holloway today confirmed that defender Patrick Kisnorbo would be out of action 'for the next four to six months'.

The stand-in Foxes captain was stretchered from the field of play during the first half of the Championship clash against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.

And a scan on Sunday revealed that the Australian international had suffered a partial anterior crutiate tear that will require surgery over the summer.

Holloway said: "It looked innocuous at the time - but those cruciate injuries always do.

"The good thing is he has got the right people around him at the club. Our medical team here have dealt with similar injuries in recent years and they are confident that he will come through it.

"We have now got to decide if he will have his surgery over here or in Australia.

"His injury, quite simply, gives someone else an opportunity for our final game of the season against Stoke.

"Levi Porter did his cruciate against Chelsea earlier in the season and he his back in training now. Years ago his career could well have been over. It's incredible what they can do these days."

NOOOOOOOO!

Play Stearman at centre back next week don't play N Gotty or we are guranteed to lose.

And we will be fooked for the start of next season.

What about Worley?

I don't think playing Stearman at Centre back is the way to go.

The man likes to go forward.

Worley is inexperienced and at such a crucial game I wouldn't risk playing him.

Did he have something similar when we first signed him? I remember waiting for months for him to make his debut.

He's had knee trouble before and you are right, he had surgery about 6 months before he signed for us and was out for about 8 months.

He won't be sold now, but what bothers me is that by the time he is back, it will be approaching the time when he can speak to other clubs about signing on a bosman at the end of the season.

Massive blow this is.

Big blow for us given the importance of our final match.

It showed on Saturday that our defence crumbled without him and I hope we don't have another repeat of that. It'd be likely that N'Gotty starts in his place I think, that'd be the sensible option I think despite Bruno's poor performance Saturday.

From the OS at the time:

City boss Craig Levein said: "He has had a cartlidge operation on his knee and we thought it would be a good idea if he undertook his rehabilitation here in Leicester rather than up in Hearts.

Around August 17th 2005, he still wasn't fully fit (but getting there). At the end of August, he was still only playing reserve games... So we did wait a while for him. :ermm:

Hard luck on the fella but it wouldn't bother me if he never played for us again!

Not the end of the world, Fuller would have ripped him apart like the previous occassions!!!

Yeah, but was does concern me is that N'Gotty is Kissa's replacement!! :o

I'd actually agree with this, I think he is over rated. Personal opinion.

It's a shame he'll miss such a vital match on Saturday. It was such a blow when he went on Saturday and it showed.

Get well soon Kissa.

Like Fuller won't do the same to Stearman?

Like i've said in another thread, Fuller will tear us a third arse, no matter who's in defence!!!

We just gotta hope, both\either Sidibe or Fuller have a bad game!!

I have a feeling that could be the last time he plays for Leicester.

There isn't anyway that he would want to play for a club that hangs around the relegation zone.

Only good side to this he wont be moving in the summer :)

No, we will be paying him £8k a week to sit on his arse
