Max Gradel

Gradel will get his chance next year, this season at Bournemouth will have done wonders for him, and he's done brilliantly there, so with players of better quality around him, he should shine even more.

I think it depends on if we get a new manager or not, & how much the new manager would know about him.

Surely any new manager would have a backroom staff bearing some knowledge on all players, and Gradel would also receive a glowing report from Kevin Bond. They would also need to reassess performance of the players this season, and they'd definately notice a dozen goals from the wing in a relegated side as an acheivement, especially in the League we'll be in next season.

My ideal midfield for next season would have King and Weso in the middle with Bell and Gradel on the wings. Porter and Beswick for cover. I think that alot of academy products wil form our team next season.

Does Bond know Mandaric??, maybe Bond as the new Manager...

almost worked wonders at Bournemouth with a team docked 10 points.

Bell will score the winner in the play off final next year and the Mercury will report 'Bell Ends Season in Style'

Is nobody else at all concerned that Gradel may be one of the ones snapped up by a Championship side? Especially one that got promoted and has seen him play. The reviews he has got have been unbelievable, and as with anybody in our squad, all it would take is a average/competitive bid and they will be off.

Has he said anything anywhere stating a particular desire to be at Leicester?

Thats what i feared but he penned a 3 year contract only a couple of months ago so i think we'll keep hold of him

Has good bonds with all the academy players which will most likely form the basis of our squad next season. Signed a new contract with us this season, and, unless he has clauses, I doubt will leave, because he won't be high on the wage bill and one of many that we need to boot out.

Thats good...was pretty concerned there for a while!!

Then we might as well put Beaglehole in charge. He knows his team better than anyone. And he can't possible do any worse.

he will get a chance , our main man next season

How does anyone know that?

We don't even know who the manager will be yet.

Holloway came in with wondrous words praising the youth players but Hollowords isn't my nickname for him for nothing and the truth came out in his team selections.

Kelly was no better before him.

And with Mandaric as seemingly just as sold on the merits of experience as his managers who would bet on anything changing?

Perhaps we'll yet need relegation to Division Two before there's a genuine re-think.

I garentee that Barry Hayles will keep him out of the team.

What?

You gotta cram in experience whereever you can ey?

i tell you what i never really thought he would amount to anything and when people were raving about him i still thought he was crap but seeing some of his performances and hearing how much bournemouth love him then i cant wait for him to come home! hes done incredibly well considering hes played for a team in a similar position than us (relegation) and still managed to get what 10+ goals i think so come home maxi!!

:D :D

If I were manager the first thing I'd do is ask Beaglehole to be assistant.

Cos I think that's the best hope we have of keeping the core of our young players together.

Some will be pretty pissed off not being involved or more involved in the relegation run in. And with good reason.

It would also show a commitment to Beaglehole's style of play, the only approach any City teams of recent years have been successful employing.

Maybe something in that , Bond would have been at Pompey under Mandaric . At least Maxi would get a game then

Who needs Bond when we can have Thracian!!!

There's no doubt Gradel would get his chance then - and not some condescending 20 minutes before being dropped either. :D

It also depends on the management style.......

Kevin Bond at Bournemouth gave his players a lot of freedom thats why Vokes Kuffour Gradel etc looked so good.

If we get a manager whos adament on keeping it tight Maxi will suffer like all the other "creative" players we've had

Unfortunately a significant number of fans say they aren't interested in us being creative - they'd rather win 1-0 that risk losing 4-3. "Keep it tight," are their watchwords.

I don't want to spoil the Max Gradel party but we've hyped players up before and they've come crashing back down with a bang.

Then again, fu ck it we're down so I suppose there is need for optimism from somewhere! lol

no no they dont , people may have said that with the personnel available but i asure you fans would like us to be attractive as possible . Dont put word in peoples mouths

I'm certainly looking foward to seing Maxi back next year. It should be like having a new signing in a position where we really need something extra as well. He is certainly proven in league 1 and he seems to have a bit of everything in his game. I've only seen him play once (against Oadby in pre-season this year) & he impressed me a lot that day. He was very positive & not afraid to take on his man.

All this said, however, I am not getting my hopes up too high as he wouldn't be the first overhyped youngster not to live up to expectations and even if he does, there could well be teams from the higher leagues sniffing around. If Mandaric does pull out we will definitely need to sell as well :(
