Tevez Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Will this lad stay? I hope so I really do. Went to watch him this season vs Notts County and he was too good for League 2, I think this might be his foundation to build on.
Uncle Albert Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 I hope Dodds stays with the club for along time and can hopefully cement a place in the Johnstones Trophy XI this term.
lildave3 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Doubt it. Lincoln fans love him, we don't. And when we watched him on Saturday he was fairly poor.
syston_fox Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 And when we watched him on Saturday he was fairly poor. When we went he didnt even get off the bench!
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Yeah but I think he said he was waiting to see if he had a chance here (ie. we went down) before signing a permanent deal with Lincoln.

I hope so I really do.Went to watch him this season vs Notts County and he was too good for League 2, I think this might be his foundation to build on. I think the core of our quality youngsters will start to break up and go separate ways unless we act quickly and appoint a manager who they trust and who will show some faith in them. Even now it may be too late and that was one of the main reasons I wish we'd replaced Holloway weeks ago. Loyalty is important and I hope our young players show some but I really doubt that people at such an important stage of their careers and development will want to go backwards. I still wonder if Mandaric was as much party to the obsession with experience as Holloway but he never comes clean about it.
Thracian Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Doubt it.Lincoln fans love him, we don't. And when we watched him on Saturday he was fairly poor. Fryatt's been poor for the best part of two seasons but some people still rate him. And for such a poor player it's strange how Dodds made more appearances than anyone else for Lincoln and scored at a rate we'd have been delighted with from midfield.

Of which of the youngsters do you feel would be ready and up for the challenge of taking us up?
lildave3 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Fryatty's been poor for the best part of two seasons but some people still rate him.And for such a poor player it's strange how he made more appearances than anyone else for Lincoln and scored at a rate we'd have been delighted with from midfield. The people that rate Fryatt are dying down per game. And I never said he's a poor player, just that he played poor. Plus, it's in League 2.
Bert Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Of which of the youngsters do you feel would be ready and up for the challenge of taking us up? Sheehan. King. Beswick. Stick the lot.
shen Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Fryatty's been poor for the best part of two seasons but some people still rate him. Fryatty? Thats a new one. You're right though. Fryatt's had his chance, while Sappleton, Odhiambo, Chambers and McKay have been completely disregarded. Nearly all other teams around us would give a few of their youth products a chance during the season. We've only used Mattock. King couldn't even get more than a handful of appearances despite scoring arguably the goal of the season. You wonder what these lads have to do...
fox123 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Sheehan.King. Beswick. Stick the lot. Would Sappleton be ready to step up?, I think we need about 4/5 youngsters in the team for next season!
Bert Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Would Sappleton be ready to step up?, I think we need about 4/5 youngsters in the team for next season! Ash Chambers. Mattock if he stays. Weso? Odiahambo Max. Sappleton.[/color]I guess.
fox123 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Ash Chambers.Mattock if he stays. Weso? Well I was thinking with Ashley Chambers being on the bench on Sunday that there is a good possibility he could be in with a good chance of 1st team opportunities next season, need to add Gradel into the mix as well!
act smiley Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Potential midfield of Porter Wesolowski King Gradel, is pretty decent considering. Plus Mattock, Stearman, Sappleton, Odhiambo, McKay, Beswick and Chambers and I think we could do quite a bit better than 4/5 if we made that a focus rather than bringing in players.
lildave3 Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Ash Chambers.Mattock if he stays. Weso? Odiahambo Max. Damn Ricky hater.
Nath. Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Louis Dodds told the mercury that he was waiting to see what was happening, now were relegated, I think he'll come in with a new contract, and shine at League 1 level, along with Matty Fryatt, I truly think he'll start bagging in League 1, well he should do. The youngsters in the team (Chambers, King, Beswick, Sppleton, Gradel) Will look at it as a brilliant opportunity to shine... I hope Sheehan comes back, Because I reckon Mattocks off to Villa in the summer, So we'll need Sheehan, Much better than Clapham, and much younger, Jonny Hayes and Porter will also Build on next season, League 1, nice an easy for them all to start at (In theory, but this is Leicester, its never simple!) And maybe next season we'll have a player on the top scorers list for the first time in how long?

I still wonder if Mandaric was as much party to the obsession with experience as Holloway but he never comes clean about it. Spot on there Thrac. I think the idea of playing experience has burnt out a little bit of the passion and love some of the younger ones had for LCFC. Its another one of the things Ollie was solely responsible for. He diminished the passion to play for the Club.
Ric Flair Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I hope we keep Dodds, at League One he'd be every bit as good as anything bar Hume we have up front. Fryatt has a good track record in League One, but I think the damage has been done with him at Leicester.
breadandcheese Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Dodds is now a better player than he was before his loan move to Lincoln. Providing he wants to stay (which I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to go bearing in mind his age and need for first team football), I think he would be a useful player to have. Otherwise, we will only need to sign someone else, who judging by recent signings, will more than likely turn out to be overpriced and of questionable quality.

I think the new manager will have some 'youthful' delights, I hope he\she will give the likes of Dodds et al a chance to prove there worth!!
BigGibbo Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Why have all my post from this morning been deleted anyone? I asked a valid question in here!!!
