eye666 Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Mattock can go... for over £5m. If Gunter and Bale can go for loads of cash, then a 'potential' (and I use that lightly), England left-back should fetch far more than a Taff. These clubs can afford it with all of their TV revenue etc. etc. so hold them to ransom if they do want him. £5m and not a penny less, if not more (wasn't Bale £7m or something).

Bale went for £5million + clauses, potentially reaching £10million. I don't think we could get that sort of price for Mattock because he's far too inconsistent. I think £3.5-4million would be a fair price.
Joe. Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 I think we'd realistically be looking at £3 million for Mattock.
Cheese Me Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 I think we'd realistically be looking at £3 million for Mattock. TBH I'd be amazed if we got more
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 June 2008 Posted 21 June 2008 Still at Tottenham. Aye, I know, was making a point about how he seems to have dissapeared.
Unabomber Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 Really don't think it is time for the two of them to move on yet, I think if Mattock has a solid season as first choice left back next season it would do his future prospects no harm. As for Stearman I'm not too bothered, although again I think he will only progress if he stays, and hopefully helps us gain promotion next season.
Father Ted Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 I think we'd realistically be looking at £3 million for Mattock. Well, to be honest, I don't think we should let him go, we should try and keep hold of him for as long as we can, also if he knows what is right for his career he will stay here for 1/2 seasons to get some more experience.
Candidcamera Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 Lineker stayed why shouldn't Joe ? I'd give him the captaincy and keep him fully on board. Another one for the captaincy on the merits of last year is Stears. Make the youngsters feel valued by us.

Webbo Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 That's the worst idea I've ever heard. How about putting Stevie Wonder in goal?

Cal Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 Didnt Everton pay alot for Gosling? Young English talent seems to be going for alot these days, we should hold out for a good offer.
smokey Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 Didnt Everton pay alot for Gosling? Young English talent seems to be going for alot these days, we should hold out for a good offer. Only 1.5 million i think! We need a lot more than that

Cheese Me Posted 22 June 2008 Posted 22 June 2008 Stearman on the other though - yes That might be a decent shout. What about Hume? Hotheaded but passionate - people said Walshie couldn't be captain
