So, farewell then Iain Hume (Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuume), You were a player at my club. The crowd sang your name without tune (tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune), And you were often swapped for a sub. I think it may be true Iain Hume (Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuume), to say you didn't favour the wing. I wonder if you like to spoon (Spooooooooooooooon), if, like Alex, this is your thing?

knowitall Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 As far as I'm concerned, Hume is one of the best players we've got. He always gives 100%, chases back to win the ball whenever he gives it away, wins headers that he has no right to and possesses the touch & vision of a quality player. Ok he should maybe get a few more goals but he has still been our top scorer in each of the last 3 seasons & considering the type of hoofball we have often been playing and the lack of creativity in midfield plus the fact that he has, this season, found himself out of position, this is the best we should have expected. I think he is well capable of becoming a 20 goal-a-season man in a better team with players who read the game properly & have some desire to go forward & attack at pace, especially in League 1. In some ways I feel sorry for him because despite his efforts he will always get labelled as one of those money-grabbing useless bastards that took us down from the Championship. His talents have been wasted here lately and I'm sure he would be fulfilling his potential in a better team that plays proper football. I'm not claiming that he's Ronaldo but when compared to rubbish like Steve Howard it is infuriating to see Hume played out of position & wasted when he could have been up front scoring the goals that Howard never had in him!!!also I get pissed off when people moan about him getting HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUME every time he touches the ball, whether he loses it or not. This gets on my nerves as well but its hardly his fault. He's not the one starting the chant and I don't see how that can be used as a criticism of the player when its clearly the fault of the fans if anyone should be blamed!!! Rant over!!! my apologies to anyone who managed to read the whole thing but at least its out o my system now I agree with most of what you are saying but just for the record Iain is one of the lowest paid squad members at Leicester. DJ is on over twice as much money.
knowitall Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 He's one of my favourite players, mainly because he's quite exciting to watch and he does seem to try harder than some, but that doesn't mean he's particularly effective a lot of the time, and I personally he'd struggle to get into a lot of Championship sides. He's done alright recently but since he's been here he's had long spells of not contributing very much at all.He looks good because so many of our players look crap. I'd keep him given the choice because he's undoubtedly one of our better players (although that's not saying much) but I'm not sure why people talk about him as if he's someone we should build our side around Bellend Very good post!!!

Let's hope he doesn't dredge the little known canal that runs along side Market Street otherwise he'll find some of Ultra previous conquests. After he'd performed canal on them of course.
