Ric Flair Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I'd just like to place on record my gratitude towards Iain Hume in the past 3 seasons. He's been here at a time when the club has gone through the worst period it's ever gone through, but Hume has been probably the only player worth his salt in that time. He has got his weaknesses, but he's consistently come up with the goods when others haven't and I wish him all the best at his next club. If Holloway stays, which it increasingly looks like he is, then Hume is off. No question. Holloway wants him out and Hume's not keen on Worzel either. So cheers Humey, some of your goals have made these piss stained 3 seasons a little more bearable. If Gradel joins you out of the door, then is there room for a pissed up fan as well? All the best, Iain. You will be missed, even if Master Fox won't admit it.

I hope he stays, & plays up front next season. He will lead our promotion push. I will miss you if you go.
Phlashman Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Have you got any evidence of this other than that article from when Ollie was manager of Plymouth? I'm pretty sure they'll both be here next season.

He aint leaving, he said he was staying and also i don't know who would sign him. He didn't score that many last season.
Stevosevic Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Agreed. One of few players i have actually liked over the past few years.
Matt Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 He aint leaving, he said he was staying and also i don't know who would sign him. He didn't score that many last season. Paul Dickov
Corky Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 HUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEE!! He's been one of the few players who can hold his head up high recently.
dandannieldanok Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 He aint leaving, he said he was staying He probably assumed like the rest of us Holloway was going to be turfed out today.
breadandcheese Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Have you got any evidence of this other than that article from when Ollie was manager of Plymouth? I'm pretty sure they'll both be here next season. I'm sure Ollie tried to sell him in the January transfer window.
Mr Happy Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Its not going to be like a couple of seasons ago when it came down to either Keown goes or Adams would?! As in that case I know out of Hume and Ollie who I'd rather we kept and unlike the clue I'll give you as to who it is this guy doesn't have one about tactics
Webbo Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Hume's nothing special, he improved in the last few games because (I believe) Holloway got the best out of him by dropping him and forcing him to stay in position and not go chasing the ball down near the corner flag. If I got picked for the first team I'd work hard, it wouldn't make me a good player.
lookwhaticando Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I'm sure Ollie tried to sell him in the January transfer window. knowitall said this was the case, if I'm not mistaken... and knowitall has been rather reliable, so I'm inclined to believe it.

The bloke has been awful, few goals here and there don't make a player. I would much rather have had Dean Windass. Hume's football career will now decline down the leagues becuase he's shown nothing more to prove that he's any better than Division 4 or lower. Laters Hume, you suck!
The Reverend Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I dont see why he would leave, unless he gets big interest from a high Championship club. I'm sure he will see he has a chance to increase his hero status to legendary by firing us up. Its more appealing to me than firing Burnleyto mid table mediocrity.
eaststandtom Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Have you got any evidence of this other than that article from when Ollie was manager of Plymouth? I'm pretty sure they'll both be here next season. where has ollie or hume said they dont like eachother whilst both have been here?
Nationwider Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Agreed. He occasionally leaves his brain behind in the changing room, but he's never lacked in effort, and has basically done what no-one else has in three seasons ie, looked like scoring now and again. Oppo fans love to hate him, which is a sign of a useful player. He's been poorly managed by Holloway. CCC is his level and there'll be no shortage of suitors for him, so hopefully we get a good price and, crucially, reinvest the proceeds wisely.

The sign of a master tactician. Can see a few more wanting to move with Ollie at the helm.

Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Where has this whole 'If Ollie stays then Hume goes' thing come from? Ok they slagged each other off once when Ollie was at Plymouth but I've never heard anything to suggest that they had fallen out. Hume has been played out of position but that was due to a lack of hard-working and competent wingers. That should be sorted between Bell, Gradel & Porter next year so I don't see why Ollie won't play Hume up front.
Simi Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 I am really hoping he stays to be honest. If he can find a way to get on with Ollie, which I'm sure he will if he's played in his right posistion, then there is no doubt he can be a tallysman for us next season. I've gave him a bit stick this season, rightly so in my opinion, but there is no doubt we'd of been down a longer while had he not been here this season.
Joinesy77 Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 Hume has been an absolute legend for us since he joined and will be sorely missed if he goes. He may not score 20 goals but his work rate is immence and he actually cares. He was also played on the wing for most of this season so no wonder he didnt score as many goals as he would have liked, but he still scored more than anyone else. Ollie would be an idiot to sell him. He will rip League 1 apart
Koke Posted 12 May 2008 Posted 12 May 2008 The club should fight tooth and nail to keep Hume. He's a good Championship player and he'd be absolutely devastating in League 1.
