It also seems it's cool to glaze over the fact of why people hate them and not just generalise.

I generalised, because generally, its true. I know you and others have stated why you dont like them, and i dont need to hear it again, but most just follow the gravy train.

But to be honest i meant Terry more than anything. Can anyone give me a genuine reason to dislike John Terry? I can think of one - when he parked in a disabled space. Ok, fair enough. But im talking about the football.

I find he just generally fits the Chelsea mould of antagonising referees and generally thinking he can dominate decsions. I've no doubt he's a world class centre half, I've got respect for him as a player, but I don't agree with how he conducts himself on the pitch, certainly not setting the example an England captain should be.

That's a fair point regarding his behaviour on the pitch although it is fairly endemic in the modern game. Terry is far from the only player trying to intimidate referees, and others do it far more.

My problem is with comments like the below. I find them very, very odd.

I really do not like that guy, as a footballer he is a good defender, but as a person, arrogant, cocky, mr i am....

TWAT!!!

King of shaves my arse, king of penalty misses more like. Less time doing adverts, more time practising you pens Mr Terry.

willy puller

Thanks! I wouldn't just go round calling him a twat for no reason, I can justify it.

Oh, and another thing.

Mr England is caught spitting on Tevez here.

45 seconds in.

Nice example to set from the England captain.

But Ched, everybody does that. Ferdinand and Rooney do it for United. It's intimidation is'nt it, and also its passion, and i like to see that because it shows a will to win. If referee's weren't so easily influenced then they wouldnt do it.

Oh well like i said i have my reason's....

Your opinion on him is different from mine, so what....

I just think the way he always gets involved, the amount he gets away with off the ball is incredible, i remember him kicking the shit out of Torres on the floor, i loved it when Torres stood up to him....

I am not saying he is the only one that does it, but as a captain he should be calming the situation down, if his players see him causing aggro then there all going to do the same.

Like when Keano used to frog march the ref, all of them done it....

I thought a captain was a leader, a true example to his troops, but maybe we differ on what attributes a captain should have.

That happens all over the pitch though Darker, players get roughed up, its part of the game, its a mans game. Are you telling me Torres didnt give Terry any back?! Couwse he did!

I agree a captains job is to keep his players calm, and he does that most of the time, but some situations need someone to wind the players up.

Well thats your opinion :frusty: You seem to think you're view is correct every single time, and I find that very, very odd.

Plenty of reasons to hate him, he smashed someone over the head with a glass bottle, parked in a disabled space. Not exactly role model behaviour?

Just because you disagree... doesn't mean you're right every single time James lol

Yeah, I don't condone Ferdinand or Rooney either, none of them are fit to captain an England side, I hope Capello realises that soon as well. I think passion yes, I do agree. When you see a Rooney go screaming at the ref when he doesn't get a decsion, there is a part of you that loves it, but then again hates it.

Thing is, with Chelsea it's never just one player. It's 6 or 7 big, intimidating characters. Also, it's normally at a time when they have no argument at all. Chelsea didn't play fair last night, they always kicked the ball out for a throw, United gave it to feet. The second United did the same, Chelsea didn't like it. Surprisingly they were then all around the referee, including Terry.

I agree, referees play a massive part in this, which is why it was nice to see Drogba getting what he deserved. Until the FA gets a grip, sadly nothing will change. I realise it's not just Chelsea, but they play a big, big part.

As for the spitting, I've succesfully paused it once, he does spit on him.

Rev,

I agree with what your saying, it does happen all over, but i feel some are picked up on it more than others, I must admit that maybe my choice of words were maybe harsh, so i will retract the Twat comment!!

But i just think he gets a way with a hell of a lot.... That is just my view on this....

I have always said and i will always say that he is a very very good defender, i just don't agree with the certain manner in which he acts.

I am suprised that we have not spoken about Drogba yet, Now this is one guy i really can't stand!!

Uh? That bit in bold doesn't even make sense.

Anyway... parked in a disabled space? Are you f**king serious? Right then I hate his guts the f**king twat. What a disgrace. What an abomination. Gutless, selfish, self-serving, penalty-missing, goat-f**king, fascist willy puller.

I take everything back. You're right.

I once parked in disabled parking spot when was I about 19. I got a bollocking for it and rightly so. But I hope that doesn't make me a scumbag

No it doesn't, it makes you a gutless, selfish, self-serving, penalty-missing, goat-f**king, fascist willy puller.

Yeh i can go with that, i was a bit puzzled with what was happening at first when it all kicked off, as to me, the chelsea players had just kicked it out for a throw in rather than back to the keeper whenever it was kicked out for an injury.

But all teams do this, especially in the big games. If roles were reversed, id of been surpriresed if Utd didnt do the same. I just dont see it as a reason to hate John Terry. But each to their own.

Yes, i can understand people hating Drogba, he is a cheat, and a diving, moaning bastards

There not normal people are they JTB, they're not allowed to make mistakes.

If you want to see a willy puller, look at what Edwin van der Sar does when Terry misses. Now that is cnutish behaviour.

That's not my reason for hating Terry, it's other things, as I've stated. I just don't agree with how they reacted, I would of said the same about United had they done it.

I hope Man Utd win, I predict there will be massive controversy at some point during this game and I think Didier Drogba or Ashley Cole will be at the heart of it.

Shout Ric.

What the f**k is all this Terry hating all about?

Calling him a twat and a willy puller? Why? He cares passionately about his club and is also one of few players who is proud to wear the England shirt. After a few slip ups in the past he now seems to act like an excellent role model and a good professional. I genuinely feel sorry for him. There a whole load of players that I'd rather that happened to...

I find this hatred towards him bizarre.

Bingo bango.

And those saying 'practise your penalties' if he didn't slip then it's gone in.

Good :scarf:

I don't like the chap - ANY excuse to abuse him is music to my ears. Same goes for Lampard lol

Thought it was a pretty decent final last night.

Even though the Ref had more of an effective game than Rooney for Yanited.

John Terry shown why he deserves to be England captain with his performance last night dispite missing the penalty.

So did Rio.

Terry's an ex-Forest player. That's usually reason enough to despise anyone. (MON and Neil Lennon being very obvious exceptions)

But I'd prefer Ashley "How dare you only offer me £55k/week" Cole to have missed a penalty last night.

Now there's a player I REALLY cannot stand..
