Decent game as far as these things usually go but I couldn't help feeling all the way through how completely insignificant it all felt compared to your average Leicester City game even against the likes of Cheltenham and Hereford next season.

Can't wait.

Yeah...City V Hereford on a cold December Tuesday night in front of 15,000 odd fans and a dog.

Cant wait!!!!!

:D

TBH, I wanted Chelsea to lose so much I felt like a Man Utd fan, was really exciting match, and was really nervous towards the end of the second half and the penos.

I don't see how you can really care that much unless you support one of the two teams, and even then 95% of their fans have never been to a game.

It's just one big hype-o-wankfest for the water-cooler generation to discuss at great length tomorrow at work, trotting out the same tired cliches and bullshitting with the benefit of hindsight.

Give me Southampton away on a Tuesday night every time.

Call me a scummer but I was the same.

Unless you passionately hate Chelsea.

(and Torquay)

Ha! My season has been good afterall!

How anyone can say Chelsea deserved to win I don't know. United had three big chances first half and took one. Chelsea hit the bar twice and then Terry made a wonderful block from Giggs. Consider too that United put one more penalty in the net and the Chelsea were best case just doesn't get to first base.

The London bias always shows through somewhere.

95% of Man United fans. WE ARE THE BEST. CHAMPIONS 4 EVER.

95% of Chelsea fans. 'This is the worst night of my life, Chelsea are shit.'

Fair enough, each to their own.

Two foreign-owned, spoilt brat-infested teams costing billions of pounds that seem a million miles away from where my heart lies in football right now to be honest.

It would have been sweet had United lost. Ronaldo missing the penalty after faking it like a queer and stopping for 2 seconds. But too bad it was over shadowed by a win.

He had a good game, but I hate players who do that shit with penalties. Just hit the ball into the back of the net with power. Owen Hargreaves, stand up sir.

I don't really believe in "deserving to win" when you lose really, but I thought Chelsea were the far better team from around the 35th minute onwards.

Chelsea were the better team from the half hour mark and onwards. Fair play to them, they were good tonight.

Being honest I was even nervous watching that penalty shootout and I have no affiliations whatsoever with either team.

2235: Incredible, heart-stopping drama - and you have to feel sympathy for John Terry. The Chelsea skipper had a kick to win it for his club but slipped at the vital moment and shot wide. He is at the moment being smothered in a hug from manager Avram Grant.

2237: The contrast between the two teams could not be greater. As John Terry tries to stem the tears, the United players are going absolutely bananas out there.

2242: Avram Grant gathers his players for pep talk. It's going to need some pep talk. John Terry is still crying.

Some pure gold right there. Chav twat.

Same here, my heart was also beating faster too.

Grant chucked his medal into the crowd. Wonder if one of the many that said "You don't know what you're doing" caught it.

Exactly how I feel.

Two teams I have no real attachment for. This game doesn't even register on the radar in terms of importance compared to our game against Stoke.
