Len Finsbury Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Seems like someone's been tampering with that ever reliable online encyclopedia: Lambert was appointed manager of English team Wycombe Wanderers on 30 June 2006. He led Wycombe to the League Cup semi-finals after defeating Premier League sides Fulham and Charlton Athletic. The semi-final tie, against then Premier League champions Chelsea, saw Wycombe hold Chelsea to a 1–1 draw at Adams Park before losing the away leg. This was the first time in over 30 years a fourth tier team had reached that stage of the League Cup. Lambert resigned as Wycombe manager on 20th May 2008 following the club's elimination from the League 2 play-offs by Stockport County. He was appointed as the new Leicester City manager on 24th May 2008. Paul Lambert
RowlattsFox Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 I'm not sure about Grayson. would we be considering him if he wasn't ex-Leicester? I'd be willing to give him a go though. Mike Newell would be my prefered choice but I don't see him working in football for a while. Apart from that I don't really know who I want,if we do go for Lambert, I would like to see an experienced head alongside him, maybe Little?
Moreton Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Is it just me who thinks that appointing Steve McClaren as manager wouldn't be so bad?
lavrentis Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 I would like Simon Grayson but I don't think he'll take a step down unfortunately.
Phlashman Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Grayson just isn't going to happen. Can everyone shut the f*%k up about Walsh? It's just not a good idea when you actually think about it. Mike Newell is probibly the the best realistic option.
Master Fox Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Billy Davies Good call. But, it will take someone special to put me off Peter Reid as number 1.
Finchy Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Is it just me who thinks that appointing Steve McClaren as manager wouldn't be so bad? It's amazing how that England job has changed people's views on the man. The guy led Middlesborough to a UEFA cup final and he won them their first trophy ever! He is a great club manager, too good for us.
STUHILL Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 I dont get why BILLY DAVIES isn't on the list! He would be my first choice and I think he's a realistic get AND a very good manager!
josh_baskin Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 why is Lawrie Sanchez not on that list might I ask??!!!
Koke Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Why would Simon Grayson drop down a division? Our best bet is Mike Newell.
FleckneyFox Posted 24 May 2008 Author Posted 24 May 2008 Why would Simon Grayson drop down a division? Our best bet is Mike Newell. Blackpool have gone as far as they can go and little money, we have potential.
Scow Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Can people stop mentioning Ince and Ferguson? It isn't going to happen. Why swap a club on the up, with stability and money to spend for a club on a downward spiral, a mad chairman and little job security? People talk about potential, but this club is in a fuc king mess.
Moreton Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 It's going to be Paul lambert appointed one day next week.

All brilliant potential managers in my book!
