maddog Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 What a joke. He did awesome at Chelsea in his time there, just as good if not better than Jose. Champions League final very unlucky to lose, Carling Cup final, and he got them back in the title race. What a ridiculous decision, Ambramovich and Kenyon are right barstards. http://www.chelseafc.com/xxchelsea180706/i...article_1318728 From Official Chelsea website

Monk Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 beat me to it What a twonk.Went to the Wigan game a few weeks back and they were bloody useless. Glad to see the back of him.
Benjani Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 How can he be better than Jose? The man could hardly put a sentence together in English. I think it's more to do with Steve Clarke and Ten Cate, you could see in the Final Avram was standing there in Extra time while Clarke was rallying them on. I don't quite think he could cope with the pressure and media to be a top manager. He did well, but not good enough. At the end of the day he didn't win anything, lost in the Carling final.
Tevez Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 He was always going to go at the end of the day. It's more Steve Clarke and Ten Cate then Grant.
The Stig Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 So you get to the UCL final and lose on penalties and you lose the league by two points, sackable form nowadays.
Tevez Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 So you get to the UCL final and lose on penalties and you lose the league by two points, sackable form nowadays. Well drawing to Wigan isn't the best is it? (Which probably cost them the title)
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Even if he won the Premiership AND the European Cup, he would still have got the sack. His face just didn't fit.
Benjani Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Maybe Roman was impressed with Burrows in the Carling Cup game
MC Prussian Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 He won nothing. Hear, hear. That's what Chelsea want. And if they don't get what they want, they act accordingly.
Benjani Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 There's a Mandaric interview about Avram on this link. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/7004083.stm From last year though.
sdb Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 He won nothing. because terry hit the post with a penalty. it's ridiculous. he'd still be in the job otherwise. and if drogba and lampard didn't hit woodwork during the game. plus they'd started playing some good stuff recently. i hate chelski more than i did before now. that's a lot!

Number 6 Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 they never got over the disappointment of losing the community shield final
sdb Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 If If If.They won nothing. End of. how ridiculous. Rafa Benitez and Arsene Wenger lucky not to be given their p45's then?
ASH17LCFC Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 John Terry cost him his job Talking of who Anyone heard about the new John Terry vodka ? Bottled in ......
Uncle Albert Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Deserved to go to be honest. Grant got to these finals and the last day of the season with Mourinho's team so... And he only bought Anelka as cover because of the African Nations.

Uncle Albert Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 surely getting to two finals and clawing back man utd for a shot at the title on the final day with someone elses team is an impressive feat rather than some sort of failure?! No as Mourinho's team has alreay won 2 league titles. A season without a trophey is a sackable offence for a club as big as Chelsea.
Joe. Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 Hardly surprising, but ridiculous. I fail to see what he has done wrong really. He's managed what Moruinho couldn't in his first season by reaching the Champions League Final, and they only lost on the lottery that is the penalty shoot-out. He lead Chelsea to hauling themselves to a shot at the title on the final day too which is impressive considering how far behind Man United they were at one point.

Mourinho couldn't reach a CL final though could he? Are we seriously saying that Grant deserved to keep his job if Terry didn't slip taking his penalty, but should be sacked because Terry did?!?
