Manwell Pablo Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 My dads a North West Leicestershire running legend, used to be in the paper all the time, founded the local running club. used to do the London Marathon every year, didn't have to get sponsors to do it either as he was quick enough to get in with the elites, I think his best time was around 2:38, my unlce has done it in something stupid like 2:23. They're both obssesed At the age 54 he's down to just under 4 hours now . I myself, hate it with a passion. I still do it twice a week on top of football though, As others have said I prefere cycling, unfortuantley running is much better for you. I can run about 2 miles in about 17 -18 minutes now though which I think is impressive .

Guest Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 I prefer to call it running. According to my Garmin, I run. Ok, it's a slow run, but it's running.
Tevez Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 There is no motivation for jogging. I tried jogging to Football training but it killed me off, I prefer Cycling especially with an Ipod.
fox123 Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 I thought about starting up jogging again, used to go alot when younger (29 now) but I smoke and feer that I would look a nob when stood there in me kit, hands on waist bent over gasping for breath

If you have run/jogged in the past, it is amazing how quickly you'll get back into it. Besides, you can't look as silly as the women who go out "power walking"
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 That is pretty impressive. You're a smoker too, right? That must hinder you a bit I'd imagine On and off. When I'm on it's not heavy but yes it doesn't help and thats one of my main motivations to give up.
The People's Hero Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 I actually got genuinely fit twice in two years only to balls it all up straight after the charity runs on both occasions. I've come to realise I like beer too much.
Daggers Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 Is this the latest craze for young people or something? My bloody park is full of the bastards all of a sudden in their crap lycra sprayed over folds of flesh, shouting at my dog for making them slow down for a nano-second. In my day we lived much more productive lives, drinking cider and vandalising bus stops.
The People's Hero Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 When I go jogging, it's a bit like how the Manchester United players jog when they warm up. This is the benchmark for all that is good, for it is declared so in the Thrible. Let there be Dodds! And on the Eighth Day (Eight Days a Week.. I lururururururve you) God created Alan Shee han and his bountiful supply of near things.

This option sounds much more fun.
Master Fox Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 I'm jogging-curious. I'm a Trans-Jogger. I sometimes experiment with sprint roasting

Bellend Sebastian Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 I went for a run last night. A small boy called me 'twatto' as I ran past. I called him 'c**to', without breaking my stride. This makes me a BIG MAN

This makes me a BIG MAN Reminds of when I was in training, and I had to run past a group of overweight girls who first of all called me fat, and then shouted they were "lezzohs" and they were going to "av" me.
Samilktray Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 Me and a mate have been meaning to go for a late night jog this week, so far its been an unsuccessful idea.
