isaidno Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Have we got any Canadian foxes on here or has anyone been there ?. How big is soccer out there, I'm in Canada for the start of Euro 2008 and wonder what the chances are of the matches being shown
AoWW Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Pretty likely to be shown, I would imagine... assuming you're not gonna be in the back of beyond. Lookwhaticando lives in Ottawa - PM him... I'm sure he'll give you more of an idea. Edit: ahh, the penny has just dropped... Canada... Grand Prix... Montreal!
Floating Fox Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Not jealous of you at all Matt <_< Hope you have a great time mate
isaidno Posted 27 May 2008 Author Posted 27 May 2008 Allready been invited to a pre Grand prix party and a post GP party
Benjani Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 Allready been invited to a pre Grand prix party and a post GP party Showoff I've been to one of those before at Silverstone, because my dad used to work for RenaultF1.
Jay Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 I love the Canadian Grand Prix!! most F1 to be honest I could take it leave it but the Canadian Grand Prix always seems to be brilliant loads of action (by that I mean crashes) and that crazy wall thing where whenever they turn the corner they almost hit it!! I always make time for this race!!
James. Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 My knowledge of Canada is derived from South Park and Due South so unless you want derogatory comments and stereotyping I'll be of little use.
Daggers Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 My brother met a man there called Dr. Drugs. He assumes that was not his real name although it would be ironic if it was because he had a bag full of drugs. After playing a game of cricket with Dr. Drugs he never saw him again. If you meet Dr. Drugs be sure to pass on my brother's regards - you will easily notice him as he looks like a thin version of Roy Wood from Wizard. With a bag full of drugs.
Guest Posted 27 May 2008 Posted 27 May 2008 My brother met a man there called Dr. Drugs. A large petrochemical company has a Dr Death working for them. He didn't even choose to do a Hyacinth Bucket by spelling it De'ath, or pronouncing it "Dee-ath" or whatever.
Floating Fox Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 Lets hope you don't have a Kubica-esk crash to clean up eh? Any idea where abouts on the track you'll be put?
Smiffy Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 Every game is televised on ESPN or one of their stations. ESPN Listings Never been personally but I hear Montreal is one hell of a piss-up!
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 If you're gonna be based in Montreal, you might want to check out the Montreal Impact, they've just moved into the brand new Stade Saputo near the Olympic Stadium (Tube station Viau). They have an ultras group too, so the atmosphere isn't bad. As for Euro 2008, I don't know who will show what, but from my experience when the English season is going on, most hotels will have TSN (Which shows Champions League), RDS (TSN en français) and Rogers Sportsnet (who show a Premier League game once a week).
MC Prussian Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 I've only been to a few Vancouver Whitecaps games. It's not too bad an atmosphere, although higly "americanized", with hot dogs, national anthems played and mascot-throwing-free-shirts-into-the-crowd games and alike.

isaidno Posted 28 May 2008 Author Posted 28 May 2008 Lets hope you don't have a Kubica-esk crash to clean up eh?Any idea where abouts on the track you'll be put? Don't know untill I get there. There putting me on different corner each day. I'm sure there'll be a sports bar somewhere where I can watch the football. The Canadian Gp has a habit of having high speed crashes into walls so I'm sure I'll be busy
lildave3 Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 Sounds Familiar... Since when have we had hot dog vendors going around the stands? Never as far as I remember, and I think i'd notice something like that. In fact, i'd love that. Would save me no end of effort.

Seems to me you generally manage to talk someone else into doing it for you.
