Simi Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Kick off at 7:45pm. Portugal 2-0 winners I reckon. Ronaldo to score and take his top off saying "Viva Madrid".
purpleronnie Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Close one this Turkey are a better side thesedays. Might be a draw.
Joe. Posted 6 June 2008 Posted 6 June 2008 Surely a Portugese win here. Well that's what I expect anway.
lildave3 Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Portugal's Jose Bosingwa, who joined Chelsea from Porto last month, is expected to be fit for selection after recovering from a muscle strain. And Cristiano Ronaldo should also start having recovered from a knock which saw him train with ice strapped to his ankle earlier in the week. Turkey's Hamit Altintop is a doubt for the Group A clash. The midfielder is confident of playing, but his club Bayern Munich said he is struggling with a muscle strain. Altintop, who was out for two months after breaking a metatarsal bone in a friendly against Belarus in March, suffered the problem in training last week. Nuno Gomes is expected to lead the line for Portugal against a side he struck twice against in a 2-0 win the last time they met in the Euro 2000 quarter-finals. Portugal have a fully-fit squad to choose from after the minor scare when Ronaldo had to put ice on a knock on his right ankle during training on Monday, the squad's first day in Switzerland. Midfielder Deco returned to light training apart from the rest of the squad on Thursday for muscle-toning purposes, team doctor Henrique Jones told reporters. "I can guarantee he will be 100% for the first game against Turkey," he said.
Uncle Albert Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Kick off at 7:45pm.Portugal 2-0 winners I reckon. Ronaldo to score and take his top off saying "Viva Madrid". Oi! No need for that. Yea I will go for a 2-0 Portugal win, Simao and Quaresma. Turkey will certainly be no push overs though. Have we got to listen to Pleat or Lawrenson for this game?
dandannieldanok Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Have we got to listen to Pleat or Lawrenson for this game? ITV, not sure if it's Pleat though I reckon this could be a score draw, neither are particularly good defensively.
Tommeh Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 VIVA RONALDO, VIVA RONALDO (TOPS OFF, SWING 'EM ROUND) But yeah come on turkey. Round yours still Unc?
Uncle Albert Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 VIVA RONALDO, VIVA RONALDO (TOPS OFF, SWING 'EM ROUND)But yeah come on turkey. Round yours still Unc? Yea man, got my scarf out ready for 'Viva Ronaldo'. Tevez you arent going to be as pissed again are you?
syston_fox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Im going for a 5-2 classic to Portugal... just because im feeling optimistic of watching a decent game this tournament!
StroudFox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Portugal are one of my 2 sweepstake teams at work so they better win. Think it will be 2-0 Portugal.
Finchy Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 I've got this down as a 3-0 win to Portugal in the prediction league.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 If Turkey get an early goal this could potentially be a great game, disappointed to see Quaresma only make the bench.
Asha Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 David Pleat is the highlight of the game surely. 2-1 Portugal, Bosingwa, Gomes, and Kazim-Richards for the Turks.
Matt Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 David Pleat commentating. God how I hate ITV football/sport coverage.
