Tilley Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Hopefully, McLaren is announced tonight at Blackburn, Big Sam hasn't gotta job, so MM gets him in, Wishful thinking, like.

Dr The Singh Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 If the merc says it's a choice of gregs, wortho, pearson then it's gonna be one of them!! I'm not pleased to be honest!!
Tilley Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 If the merc says it's a choice of gregs, wortho, pearson then it's gonna be one of them!! I'm not pleased to be honest!! Ian Holloway anyone
Daggers Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Where has Grayson gone outta all of this No official approach was made to Blackpool and it was stated if one were made then it would be rejected...that was news on SSN on the 5th.
Flexx Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Such an inspiring bunch. But no one wanted Megson, look where he is now. No one wanted Warnock, look what he did with Palace. Stop complaing, get on with it, support the club.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I've sent an e-mail to Peter Jones at the club asking him to look on here to see the hatred that most fans have for Gregory. Hopefully he'll make Milan aware! Probably not but I'm getting sooooo desperate now! Can't bear to see him in charge of this club

SamL Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 According to the Merc its one from the following 3....Nigel Pearson John Gegory Nigel Wothington If that is his shortlist, out of the 3 I'd take Wortho (best of a bad bunch).... I remember they said something similar about a shortlist before Holloway got appointed and they turned out to be wrong. I hope they're wrong again.
DBEightyFive Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 And Milan says these three have the same drive and ambition that he has....hmmm

Tilley Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I for one, hope JG doesn't get the job, But if he does, I'll still support him whilst he in charge of my club. I really don't want to, but I will & I hope he proves us all wrong. Pearson has to be a no-go though, rather have JG than Pearson!!
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 16 June 2008 Author Posted 16 June 2008 Why do people persist in thinking the likes of McLaren / Davies / Allardyce / Ince / Grayson / Ferguson would be interested in attempting to keep a sinking ship afloat. We've been made to look cretinous in our pointless pursuit of Ince / Grayson et al. Face it, the Mercury 3 are the best we're going to be able to tempt.

Stop complaing, get on with it, support the club. So football records dont count then? Gregory's is abysmal. Having said that I will still support my club.
teblin Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 There is no point moaning about who ever it is. I know it will be disapointing but there is not alot we can do. Get behind them and hope they get us promoted!
Maybes Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I remember they said something similar about a shortlist before Holloway got appointed and they turned out to be wrong. I hope they're wrong again. I really hope Milan only gives the new guy a one year deal, or a clause within his contract stating that if we dont get promoted we can get rid etc.
Toby or not Toby Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I'd settle for worthington with pearson as an assitant.

We've been made to look cretinous in our pointless pursuit of Ince / Grayson et al.Face it, the Mercury 3 are the best we're going to be able to tempt. I have my doubts about that, I'm sure there are some capable managers interested in League 1/2 that have had success on limited funds and haven't failed at as many clubs as them 3, problem is they are not high profile enough for our Milan.
Daggers Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Why do people persist in thinking the likes of McLaren / Davies / Allardyce / Ince / Grayson / Ferguson would be interested in attempting to keep a sinking ship afloat. It's frightening, isn't it! Where is knowitall when you need him *slap*
JoeyB Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 It's frightening, isn't it! *slap* Dont slap me I say we start a thread for davieG to become manager. I have also just heard a rumour that Jobba is in for the running
stevec Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Mercury only speculating - its not from MM. But I'm worried all the same!
Flynny Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I'd just about settle for Wortho. It'd seem he has a good working relationship with Beaglehole, which is good for the club too. Without going "The Full Thracian", other clubs have escaped this division with a core of good young players, which is also a better approach as those same players can improve in the next division. If someone had said Worthington a while ago I'd have been a bit miffed but actually thats not too bad.
SamL Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Out of the 3 names linked in the Mercury, I'd prefer Worthington. Pearson didn't do such a great job at Southampton, nearly taking them down whereas Gregory has been poor at pretty much every club he's managed. I'm not so sure Worthington would want to come here as he's only just taken the Northern Ireland job although he may be prepared to juggle the two.

I'd be very happy with Worthington as manager, & speaking of Thracian, maybe we will get the return tomorrow when the manager is announced
