Just had a reply from Peter Jones:

Rob

Thank you for your email and kind comments about my role at the club.

It is fair to say that even without your e mail the thoughts of the fans on the possible appointment of John Gregory have come to the attention of the club. It would appear the new manager should be known quite soon.

I would not want to comment further but would like to say thank you for your continued support and loyalty to Leicester City . Whatever happens lets hope we are quickly out of Division One!!!

Best wishes

Peter

Nice to be acknowledged anyway!

Out of the 3 names linked in the Mercury, I'd prefer Worthington.

Pearson didn't do such a great job at Southampton, nearly taking them down whereas Gregory has been poor at pretty much every club he's managed.

I'm not so sure Worthington would want to come here as he's only just taken the Northern Ireland job although he may be prepared to juggle the two.

League one games aren't rearranged for international games are they ?

If this happened that would maybe mean him missing a few of our matches.

After reading the Mercury article, it seems the three names are only in the running for the job and there are more people who could be given the job. It's just pure speculation.

Mandaric will not reveal any names on his short-list at this time. But those three are understood to be among the main candidates under consideration although, I understand, not the only ones.

If Milan isn't revealing any names how do we know that these three are under consideration?

God. Stop emailing the club about the appointment of the new manager you massive bell-end . What difference do you really think you might have? Look what happened when everyone kicked up a fuss over Warnock having the job. If i worked there i'd simply send back replies like 'We don't take the fans opinions seriously anymore, becuase you are all idiots, so please shut the fcuk up and stop wasting our time you complete goon'

I think Forest had one or two rearranged last season due to the International Games so it could be done.

But personally, I'd like the manager to have us as his main priority.

Does anybody remember when the Mercury reported that Souness, Dowie and Peter Reid made up a shortlist of 3 before Holloway got the job? They've done it again basically. It's pure speculation, I hope.

If I was religious i'd be praying like mad right now. Fookin hell, I have never felt this sick from my football club and i've ate plenty of shit from the various kiosks over the years.

I don't care whom they appoint as a new manager.

All that counts is what he can achieve with the squad that he is given and that he maintains an authority on and off the pitch, inspiring both old and young.

And if a track record's the main criteria for most of you, how come Holloway did such a bad job for us?

That wasn't a day before Mandaric was to make his announcement though. That was reported in October and Mandaric didn't appoint Holloway until middle of November. This is a completely different kettle.

I think once you come to terms with the fact that Leicester are completely fcuked either way, and now just some tin pot Division 3 club who nobody cares about, makes it a whole lot easier when the next shambolic episode unfolds. That's just the way it is.

Such an inspiring bunch.

But no one wanted Megson, look where he is now.

No one wanted Warnock, look what he did with Palace.

Stop complaing, get on with it, support the club.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Thank you to every fan who emailed about Warnock, and every other fan who will email about our next new manager, whoever he is. Great way of welcoming a guy to the club, is there any wonder why there is a black cloud of dispair above the Walkers.... Cnuts!

I'm optimistic that the email that Rob the Blue has had backs up what I was told on Saturday that although initially keen on a Gregory appointment, the withering public response to this possibility had caused Milan to pursue other options. Unfortunately I wasn't told what those options were.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility, is it? They've got to sell season tickets and a desperately unpopular appointment at this point isn't going to do that - if it were mid-season, they might be a bit more cavalier.

Fingers crossed, eh

Fook off, i'm sorry. But there are certain people that should never be allowed to work for this club and Neil Warnock, John Gregory and Dennis Wise are three of them. Whether Warnock has done well at Palace since or not, is irrelevant. The things he said about us and tried to make happen made any future possibility of him being our manager impossible. You think he'd have done what he did at Palace here?

It was the Rob Kelly is next Martin O'neill that did it for me. We've got one the most best up and coming managers in England with Rob. We'll get promoted this season with COG and Hume, and the next England international Matty Fryatt. We'll go places.

Give him time.

Totally agree. Gregory should never come back, I will never forget the way he pissed off with that other tosser Allan Evans the day before a crucial league game just after Little left.

And Warnock wouldn't have done what he did at Palace here. Track records mean nothing. Levein should have done well here, so should Holloway if we are going on track records and past achievements.
