shen Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Exactly. That's exactly why they deserve to go through. They've out thought and out played very, very poor Italian and French team who will hopefully get what they deserve. Can you not admit that it would be refreshing for a country like Romania to reach the latter stages of a tournament? They're not exactly unfamiliar with latter stages of major tournaments
shen Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 I'm already imagining the Italians whining if the Netherlands 'conspire' to send Romania through... Having said that, how stupid wouldn't it be if Italy went through because of more "UEFA coefficient points"?!?!?!
Raj Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Only reason people are saying Romania deserve to go through is because they're the underdogs, it's bollocks. They've played just as rubbish football as France and Italy. I really can't say I give a toss who goes through, for the good of the spectacle I suppose I'd like to see France - while that love for the little guy in us all would make Romania a fun progression. FINNERS! Actually you are right!!! But i still want France and Italy Out!!! FCUK EM!!!!!! Victory to the Little man....(eh lildave3?????)
Simi Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 France through please. Romania will just be out next round because they've been shit, I see no need for them to progress. But from a Holland point of view, what they're doing is fine.

Finnegan Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Exactly. That's exactly why they deserve to go through. They've out thought and out played very, very poor Italian and French team who will hopefully get what they deserve. Can you not admit that it would be refreshing for a country like Romania to reach the latter stages of a tournament? Refreshing? Like Greece winning the tournament? I'd like to see the best teams full of the best players play each other and perform. I want to see Italy and France go at it like they actually care, I want to see the best of Henry, Ribbery, Benzema and Nasri fight it out and go all the way as their talent suggests they should. I don't want to see Romania grind out boring 1 - 0's and 0 - 0's on their way to crap final just so we can go "ahaha, an underdog won[!]" to be honest. I consider Croatia an "underdog" and I'll be supporting them, because their matches so far have been entertaining. If you consider either of Romania's games to date "refreshing", particularly the France fixture, then I suggest there's something wrong with you.
Joinesy77 Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Reckon France'll do it. Italy are a bunch of old men! 2-1 France Holland to draw with Romania 1-1 cos will rest most of their main guys. Holland still the team to beat!
RowlattsFox Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Holland letting Romaina through will only make it easier for them if Romania get to the semis, they'll just giving Spain an easier quarter final match which the spanish re likely to win meaning Spain face Holland in the semis.

So I take it you thought Croatia - Austria and Croatia - Poland were entertaining matches? To be quite fair, Romania played their part in an entertaining game against Italy, and so did Croatia against Germany. Apart from that, neither side has shone...
Fox You Forest Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 What? Crash into you?? I have no clue what your on about.
Finnegan Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Romania - Italy had an entertaining minute, other than that it wasn't exactly a classic. I didn't watch Croatia - Poland because of the clash, but the Austria game wasn't bad and I believe Croatia will contribute good football to the tournament, far more so than Romania.

To be fair though, Romania were hardly going to go all out against either France or Italy. I expect them to give it a real go against Netherlands though. Croatia had a much easier group to deal with and they didn't exactly convince anyone against Austria (Poland were very lackluster in the final game by the way). On the basis that Croatia, with a inspired Modric, beat Germany I agree with you that they are more likely to entertain us more, but your verdict of Romania is a bit harsh.
Father Ted Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 I have no clue what your on about. Sure .Click Here
sdb Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 I think it's fair to say that if Romania go through they'll have deserved it. They've morethan matched 2 'world class' teams, and a win against Holland (who can't really be that 'weak') would be a good acheivement. Yes it would be nice to see top quality teams get through if they were playing well but frankly the likes of Pirlo, Cameronesi, Gallas, Maluda have been crap so far.
Tevez Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Sagnol and Thuram not in the right state of mind to play.
Father Ted Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Sagnol and Thuram not in the right state of mind to play. And during the anthems you could tell that the France players weren't really pumped up
Father Ted Posted 17 June 2008 Posted 17 June 2008 Oh dear, oh dear.Luca Toni Just like Gomez - had a poor tourno. so far.
