Alexikokopops Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 360 everytime.Wider spectrum of games, premium console is cheaper than PS3, online is better, etc. The only reason I'd get a PS3 is for MGS4 and Ratchet and Clank. But PS3 does have a Blu-Ray player.
Dr The Singh Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 But PS3 does have a Blu-Ray player. Yes and the games haven't used the PS3's full potntial whereas 360's have peaked but the 360 is 'moddable' to allow copied game playback (not online though), which is a major advantage if your a big gamer who doesn't care about going online!!!!!!
hairy Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 What's the differance between elite & premium Hard drive size and you get the UMDI (?) cable with the elite, about £30. But if your TV doesn't have a UMDI slot then don't bother. Just avoid the arcade one. ASDA are doing a deal at the moment for a premium plus a game (cant remember which its an 18 cert about running around killing people) and its £15 cheaper than they are selling the premium for so £175. But you have to ask at the counter.
isaidno Posted 20 June 2008 Author Posted 20 June 2008 Play are selling the 360 premium with 3 games for £199. Playstation 3 with 1 game is £299
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 What's the differance between elite & premium Elite has 120 GB of space, compared to 20(?) on the Premium. I have an Elite because in terms of value for money it's just incredible. But PS3 does have a Blu-Ray player. Blu-Ray is the new Betamax. DVDs all the way.
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Blu-Ray is the new Betamax. DVDs all the way. DVD-upscalers

Joe. Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 You know deep down the only correct decision is to get a 360.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Surely HD DVD was the new Betamax? They're both pointless and expensive.
ozleicester Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 There has never been a need to go beyond the Atari 2600
Alexikokopops Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 They're both pointless and expensive. I agree, at the moment. Prices will come down though. DVDs were expensive in VHS times, just like VHS were when they first came out. Anyway, I'm gonna get a PS3, just because no matter what games I buy I always just end up playing Pro Evo, Metal Gear and GTA.
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Surely HD DVD was the new Betamax? I thought HD DVD was the old minidisk?
Alexikokopops Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I thought HD DVD was the old minidisk? I heard it was the new Steve Claridge to be honest.
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I heard it was the new Steve Claridge to be honest. He's the nearly-new Triumph Stag
Alexikokopops Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 He's the nearly-new Triumph Stag I saw one of them in the car park at work t'other day. Fact.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 He's the nearly-new Triumph Stag Well, my brain hurts...

It's why I suggested a Wii - if you really don't know what to get after all of them then you obviously know sod all about gaming and would be better off with a child's machine

hairy Posted 7 July 2008 Posted 7 July 2008 I got 'the family' a 360 last week, an elite one. I must say I am very impressed. Xbox Live makes it well worth it. But the best thing was configuring it over the weekend to play all the music and movies stored on the network. No more making DVDs, yeah! and no Phube, its not chipped / flashed and I will not be getting chipped / flashed. You have shown me the light.
