Tilley Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Won't be in to watch this one, But I'm going, Croatia 2-0 Turkey.
Joe. Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm actually really looking forward to this one tonight. And I don't really mind who wins either. Croatia 2 Turks 0 I hope Colin makes another impact appearance. I'd love it if he scored.
Jack Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Looking forward to this beauty tonight. I reckon 2-0 to Croatia.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm actually really looking forward to this one tonight. And I don't really mind who wins either. I'm with you on this one. If Croatia win, I'll be pleased because they are really talented and I think Bilic deserves a reward for an excellent few years. But if Turkey win, it'll be refreshing to see someone new in the semis. Just hoping for a good game, and some Nihat goals.
isaidno Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 This should be a good game. I want the Turks to win but Croatia should edge it.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Brazil - Turkey '02 I stand by my quote that it'd be refreshing to see someone new. I know they reached the World Cup semis in 2002 but that's once. Once in the history of both the European championships and World Cup. Hardly makes them specialists does it? Croatia are always there or thereabouts.
shen Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Surely Turkey have used up all their luck for the next 10 years already in this tournament. Out you go please. Croatia 1 - 0 Turkey

In fact, they've only had a football team since 1990 and the 1998 semi-final is also their only one in any major tournament. A 'refreshing' team in the semi's would actually be Spain or Russia, who've not made the semi's for ages...
shen Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 You really hate Turkey, don't you? I just don't think they've deserved what they've got in this tournament. But their recent brawl with the Swiss and the often aggressive Turkish fans are not giving me a better opinion of them, no...

A 'refreshing' team in the semi's would actually be Spain or Russia, who've not made the semi's for ages... I'm not thick. I know they've only had a football team since 1990 and their first qualification for a major tournament was mid 90s (Euro 96?). But they've always had a wealth of talent far stronger and deeper than Turkey's, even though they've only been in existance for a couple of decades or so. Spain have always had the talent available but always waste it, and they always qualify for competitions. Turkey / Croatia have never won anything, and are still considered underdogs by many. I think you misunderstood me when I said "refreshing". I mean that it would be surprising to see a team of Turkey's quality in the semis, whereas if Spain were to qualify few would be surprised.
dandannieldanok Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Come on Turkey 2-1 to Turkey (more in hope than expectation)
Koke Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Turkey to win this bitch, and set up a WW3 clash against Germany.
Father Ted Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I reckon a high scoring draw. If Turkey show the spirit they had against Czechs to come back then they could even win. And Croatia are too inconsistent - they were poor against Austria but good against Germany. Too close to call.
Father Ted Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 The commentator said 'it's hot tonight, well over 80 degrees' Human Flesh can only stand 60 degrees...
SamL Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Quality play by Croatia. Unlucky for Olic but a poor followup by Kranjar.
Finnegan Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 That miss was worse than Gomez's. Olic is sh1te! Nonsense. Olic is a cracking little player, there needs to be way more of him in the world. Runs his fucking socks off, proper footballer.
