tartanowl Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm absolutely delighted to see Nigel get a chance at a club like yours. I hope he is as successful for you as a manager as he was for us as a player. Nige was my hero and personal favourite player during the time he was with us. He was our captain courageous and our rock at the back for years. He was the man who lifted the trophy when we won the League Cup in 1991 beating Manchester United in the final. We were and still are the last team outside the top flight to win a major English trophy. Those doubting him are being very unfair in my opinion. He may not be a big name or be particularly experienced but you will not find a more committed hard working man in football. He did a very good job at Southampton for the 3 months he was in charge there. Keeping them up but sadly at your expense. The result and 3 points at West Brom in particular was a massive achievement. You should back your new manager and hopefully he will get you back to where you belong. Good luck for next season, especially against the Leeds Scum, and good luck to Nigel Pearson. Wednesday Legend.
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm absolutely delighted to see Nigel get a chance at a club like yours. I do hope that we can come through these dark days and one day emulate Wednesday by climbing back up to fight second flight relegation once again.

James. Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 **Rival fan speaking sense.** Excellent post, good luck for next season.
Daggers Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Excellent post, good luck for next season. Personally, I like having rival fans from real clubs contributing to the site - it makes a lovely change from those plastic ones from Franchise and the bitter little ones from that no-mark team from Devon.
C-man Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Good post tartanowl, hope you do well this season. I'll be at University in Sheffield and I suppose Wednesday will have to be my temporary 'local' team as I F'ing hate United. Come on NP

Ultra Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Good Post. Could be the answer to Walshy but with the managerial experience ...and the coaching badges..

Hullfox Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Personally, I like having rival fans from real clubs contributing to the site - it makes a lovely change from reading shit from some of the idiots who claim they support Leicester. Wise words Sir, wise words indeed.

Hullfox Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Would you expect anything else from Daggers!! Actually yes. I've seen him after a couple of pints. The man is more than capable of spouting utter bollocks.
Corky Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Actually yes. I've seen him after a couple of pints. The man is more than capable of spouting utter bollocks. And creating lewd signatures that could offend the youngsters (I'm thinking of you DB11) and the female population on this forum.
Jimmy Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 I'm fairly happy with the appointment, played some decent football at Soton if I recall correctly in his brief tenure there
Foxhateram Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Do they have football in Devon? Careful!!! i live in Devon you know!
Corky Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 Do they have football in Devon? They make fine Ambrosia though
Scow Posted 20 June 2008 Posted 20 June 2008 The result and 3 points at West Brom in particular was a massive achievement. You must have finished watching that game early - I seem to remember a certain Chris Brunt equalising to make it 1-1.
