internet on mobile phones

Do you have internet on your mobile phone (wifi)? and if so do you use it much or is it a feature that is just there?

PS feel free to merge with one of the other mobile phone threads.....just want this topic to have its own thread for more people to see it.

Going back to what I was saying on the N95, its one good standing out point was its wifi. I found this extremely useful. To be honest, I don't care about connection speed on a mobile phone, I jsut wabnt to be safe in the knowledge I can browse the internet without getting kicked in the teeth when my next bill comes through. At the moment I'm viewing a lot of live stock prices on an application just via WAP/GPRS and it's costing me a fortune. It's also very good for email on the move.

Wifi, very desirable, and hence why I'm going for the iphone next month.

Lots of checking of football scores, and the BBC Sport ebsite if I'm bored on the go. It's all free so I might as well.

Also watch mobile TV sometimes. Only because it's free.

I used to occasionally check BBC Mobile sport for Tuesday nights when the footy was on and I was at uni. That was when I was on a pay as you go.

There's no way I'm going to use the internet on my contract phone. Internet browsing over here costs a fortune, it's not worth it.

Besides, I'd still be on the EDGE network because my 3G phone is European 3G (UMTS2100) rather than American (HSPDA850/1900). :giggle:

Several times a day, especially when I need to check on football/cricket scores.

My Vodafone contract allows unlimited free internet use.

I only use my 3 internet to check out my monthly useage, if you do class that as internet? it dosent cost me anything to see how many text's and minutes I have left. :dunno:

I try to use mine everyday for a whole host of things.

I try.

I have a contract with Three therefore I can never find a decent signal or a consistent one.

I'm on contract with 3 and it's fantastic - coverage everywhere and it's brilliant value too.

I think they just hate you Daggers tbh

They won't be the only ones.

I guess you never come to Birmingham.

Actually it's funny you mention that - while I was in Birmingham with another mate on 3 he was compaining about bad signal - but mine was full.

S'about all I use it for as well, every now and then I use it to check the football scores.

Mine is shitty Orange World so can't really be classed as internet, I go on it to check the Football rumours in the morning but that is about it.

If your from London

Why would your City of origin have any bearing on the matter?

I used to live in Essex, can I claim Londonhood by proxy? :P

I used to have a big internet usage package on o2 but I've scrapped it as I just don't need it.

Technology has reached a critical mass. I'm going back to Etch-A-Sketch, Snoopy Tennis and SodaStream for entertainment.

I pay $15/month for unlimited mobile internet access that's not of the greatest speed and quality, but I use it frequently. Especially at work. About twice as much at work now that I'm in the middle of my "two weeks notice." :P

I have an iPhone and use the internet about 1-2 hours a day on it (depending how much travelling I do and if i'm feeling too lazy to boot log in to a desktop machine)
