teblin Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Australian International Left winger/striker. Just been released by Newcastle. Played 3 games for the full Oz team scored once.Been told that we're after him. I'd not heard of a rumour but it would make sense as Pearson would know him well. Not seen him play though, any good?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 You sure we're not signing Micky Adams as the next manager - Milan hasn't bothered waiting to fire Pearson before appointing another man so that he doesn't look silly when he goes past one of his deadlines.
The People's Hero Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I hate it when I recommend a player and we sign him, this has happened with several players over the years and they've all gone on to be absolute shithouses for us. Let's hope Nicky is the exception.Him and Gradel scored and created nearly 50 goals between them last season. Our whole midfield only scored 4 goals between them. I've found threads where I've demanded we go after Clemence and Oakley. The shame.
MC Prussian Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I thought Troisi was Canadian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Troisi James Troisi (born 3 July 1988 in Adelaide, South Australia) is an Australian striker. Club career Troisi is born of an Italian father and a Greek mother. He signed his first professional contract with Newcastle United on 10 January 2007, keeping him at the club until June 2008. He has yet to make his senior debut for Newcastle, although he has been on the bench for the first team in both Premier League and UEFA Cup matches. He is a fringe player of Newcastle's senior side for the 2007–08 Premier League season, but showed promising signs in pre-season friendlies, including getting two assists against Hartlepool United. In January 2008, Troisi had a two match trial with Dutch Eredivisie club, Roda JC. Roda wanted to sign him on a permanent basis, but negotiations broke down as Troisi was a product of Newcastle's youth development and still under 23 years of age, so Newcastle would have required a compensation fee. On 6 May 2008 it was announced that Troisi would not be offered a contract with Newcastle United after the end of the 2007/8 season. International career After a successful 2006–07 season with the Newcastle reserve side, Troisi made his debut for the Australia U23 team (the "Olyroos"), on 18 April 2007 against Saudi Arabia in an Olympic qualifier. He followed up a good performance against the Saudis with a goal in the all-important clash with Iran in his hometown of Adelaide. Troisi made his full international debut for Australia in a goalless friendly against Singapore on 22 March 2008, playing in left midfield.

teblin Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I'm pleased that we are looking at players like this. If we can get 3 or 4 players in this brackect (young up and coming) then the same in good experienced pros, to add to the young players we have already think it will be a good summers business.
allard7 Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 He sounds a good player , but its another striker ....
teblin Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 He sounds a good player , but its another striker .... Adams is a midfielder and Troisi is a left winger i think. He may play left and up front.
allard7 Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 Adams is a midfielder and Troisi is a left winger i think. He may play left and up front. oh iv just seen his profile on the ewcastle website and it say that troisi is an australian striker... hmm oh well i say fill the squad with youth and exuberence(spl) the thing is with havin the experience is they think theyv got nothing to prove. with the youth they all have something to prove and progress, so what if they become and awesome player and move on to bigger clubs as long as they help the team there playing for then why do people have things against youth .

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I agree. Hopefully these players will have some sort of drive/motivation to play for us. I can't see that happening with Moore. Here's some more for you: Nicky Adams - Bury - Wales Under 21 international, would get on well with Andy King (you'd hope), has a vey good goals to games ratio from midfield for a youngster, and provided more assists (15 overall) than anyone else in League Two. I posted this a couple of weeks ago in League One wishlist. Would be absloutely overjoyed if this is true. Cracking little player who has creativity in abundance.

Ric Flair Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I think Fez has him as his avatar as well. He's bound to be a disappointment after this mass approval from us all!
Basingstoke Fox Posted 30 June 2008 Posted 30 June 2008 I will NOT be convinced that this is a good player until i have seen a youtube video of him
