Fryatt is another worth looking at.

Fryatt is another worth looking at. Read what I said again. I was referring to me as the frenzied better and the fact that I find DJ Campbell top scorer next season as ludicrous.

Am coming more round to the fact Fryatt is gonna bang 20 goals in this season, did it with Walsall and has showd little bits of talent 2006/07 but like everyone last year had a bad season because of changes and no sability.

I agree with you, I think Fryatt has a better chance of scoring the goals for us than DJ. I just don't think Campbell has the application to succeed at Leicester. He doesn't want to be here. Fryatt, has had a nightmare couple of seasons for us and i'm sure he's desperate to make amends and I reckon Pearson will want him to stay.

Having said that, if DJ wants to go I would say anything over 1.2m would be a fair price. Personally I think he may go to Charlton, I'm sure I read they were after him last season.

But I think he'll have the same problems as last season, which seems to me he is unsettled and doesn't want to be here. So despite having the potential to score 20 goals at this level, I would much prefer him to be shipped on for anything over 500k as he isnt going to succeed here. His attitude isn't right and i'm sure Pearson will spot this. Can't see him being here, and I must say i'd be happy with him heading back down south where he quite clearly wants to be.
reynard Posted 7 July 2008 Posted 7 July 2008 Here's some facts about Dj from last season. 547 minutes since last scoring 4 league goals in 1599 mins on the pitch (1 goal every 400 mins) Less shots on target than Clemence and under half the shots on target than Fryatt in two thirds the same amount of time on the pitch. caught offside 37 times (more than any other player) Is this good enough even for league 1??

Cheaper ones at that.

I'd sooner buy a younger player or two who can improve and bring in an experienced striker who can coach them and score goals.

Joe. Posted 7 July 2008 Posted 7 July 2008 Disappointing last season but he's not useless. Who wasn't shit last season? And to be fair to Campbell he probably had the least first team opportunities out of all our first team material strikers last season (and still scored more goals than Matty Fryatt). Injuries did not help his cause last season and he never really got a god enough run in the first team to do much. He's got the ability to cause defences a lot of problems with his pace- he just can't use it properly. I'll be one of the first to admit the amount of times he is offside is hugely frustrating because it's just so unnecessary for a player like him. And in League One next year he could do the business if used in an effective way. I wouldn't be too fussed if we sold him but I wouldn't write him off at all yet.

We have young strikers at the club already. We have one of the best youth teams in the country. We should give them the chance before buying any more young strikers.

I'm guessing one of those new players included Tunchev. Personally, I'd like to see us go about offloading some of the current crop before we sign some new players.
