Samilktray Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 The most overrated time of the year. Whats everyone doing to keep themselves occupied? I can't believe I'm doing a fairly normal thread.
Tilley Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 Boring. Going on holiday tomorrow, that will kill ten days. Then when I get back I will just work & countdown to the start of the new football season.

Well, it looks as though I'm going to be busy flitting between this thread and the holidays thread that was just below this one but set up considerably earlier with many posts.

I made this with the School holidays in mind. As opposed to actually going on holiday...
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 I can remember when I was about 11-16 the summers were always absloutley baking, near enough every day, can't remember the last time we had a decent summer. Unless you count that one about 4 or 5 years ago when we had all of the summers sun in about 2 weeks. 37 odd degree heat every day for a fortnight, and it was just shit the rest of the summer.
Simi Posted 14 July 2008 Posted 14 July 2008 My plans this week consist of shopping and Bradgate park. Fun times.

Katy Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 Schools don't break up in Lincolnshire until next wednesday. Oh joy!
lookwhaticando Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 Schools don't break up in Lincolnshire until next wednesday. Oh joy! Structurally a little more sound than the schools which broke up already, then?
Uncle Albert Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 Made a return to the tennis court today.Loved it. Im playing Tennis tomorrow in Burton, cannot wait. Had an exciting day today, walked upto the shop and seen a big drug raid at some house. 15 Police cars and they even had the gun squad people. Some bloke was arrested. Was fun! Then spent the afternoon playing football down the park. Class.

Wasn't two years ago pretty hot all summer? Or maybe three. Schools don't break up in Lincolnshire until next wednesday. Oh joy! And most of the country, Leicestershire is just a strange place where school holidays start and finish about two weeks earlier than everywhere else. At least it was when I went to school.
Katy Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 Structurally a little more sound than the schools which broke up already, then? Indeedy Wasn't two years ago pretty hot all summer? At least it was when I went to school. I think there are a couple more counties that do that. I think in the long run the aim is to make the summer ones a tad shorter and make the other holidays a tad longer.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 July 2008 Posted 15 July 2008 Wasn't two years ago pretty hot all summer? Or maybe three. 2006 was a scorcher. Remember doing the ol' GCSEs in the baking heat.
Uncle Albert Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 2006 was a scorcher. Remember doing the ol' GCSEs in the baking heat. 2007 GSCE's bleeding warm, and I always sat on a wonky table.
