Tommy G Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Had seen this advertised on channel 4 for a while and watched it on friday at 10pm. Thought the sketches were brilliant and generally an all round good comedy show. Plenty of laughs. My favourite clips were Recession - By Gordon Brown R Kelly - Legal Love Westwood Dangerously High School Musical

My favourite clips wereRecession - By Gordon Brown R Kelly - Legal Love Westwood Dangerously High School Musical Yes! I've watched this on On Demand about 12 times. That R Kelly sketch was quality "Step Seven, You post a copy to the feds." Criminal Mastermind was brilliant as well.
Finchy Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Am i the only one who thinks this is one of the worst comedies since Bo Selecta? It just isn't funny! ...and why does he think people from Leicester have a Brummie accent?
lildave3 Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Am i the only one who thinks this is one of the worst comedies since Bo Selecta? It just isn't funny!...and why does he think people from Leicester have a Brummie accent? Whoa. Bo Selecta was brilliant.
Libertine Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Everyone outside of the Midlands seems to think Lestoh and Brummie are identical, annoying I agree. But this is brilliant. The R Kelly was ****ing ingenius. "Step 7..." "She's legaaal!!"
maddog Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 This is the worst comedy show i have ever seen. Everything is so unfunny and shit. I actually sort the topic title was a joke. I find it unbelieveable anyone could like it. No way Bishop will be on telly after this shit has finished. Half was thorugh watching the 2nd episode on channel 4+1, it's the worst i have ever seen. I suppose everyone has different opinions, but your not being serious surely, you don't actually like it do you, it's awful.

Milky Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Watched both of the Bishop shows, and i haven't actually laughed once. Sporadically amusing, but expected better. Speaking of shit, anyone just watch Tonightly? Unbelievably poor. Nothing worse than poor "comedians"

Good channel 4 comedy is very rare. Peep Show is all i can think of that is really good on Channel 4. BBC has always been the best for comedy.

Spaced passed me by for some reason but that's supposed to be good. Anyway it was awful. Supposed to be on every night for the next 3 weeks i think!
Finchy Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 I mean new comedy that is on C4 these days, good ones are rare.

Sporadically amusing, but expected better.Speaking of shit, anyone just watch Tonightly? Unbelievably poor. Nothing worse than poor "comedians" Why does every Northern comedian try to be like Peter Kay? Peter Kay...Remember he was funny once upon a time. (I'm talking about the northern gimp on that Tonightly)

Supposed to be on every night for the next 3 weeks i think! spaced was absolutely awesome! but it could be one of those 'you had to be there' comedies, it was very much of its time. but if you do like hotfuzz and shaun of the dead, you might like it. (there's not many clips to choose from) i was disappointed with the kevin bishop show, i watched it last week but didn't bother this, there's better stuff on the bbc at the same time
Daggers Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 Am i the only one who thinks this is one of the worst comedies since ... ... ever? I just looked at the Youtoob clips - is this crap actually on television? ****! I get scripts sent back and this crap gets commissioned? I need to start blowing a whole different set of dicks.
Matt Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 I have watched 2 out of 2 of this show, its not brilliant, However it is a hell of alot better than the last thing Kevin Bishop was in - Star Stories. Alot of people seemed to like it but I thought it was awful.

Matt Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 the last thing he did was the nat west adverts Ah right didn't realise that was him. Fair enough, the last comedy show he did.
maddog Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 Glad some people agree with me for once awful comedy. Tommy G seems to have out of this thread
Corky Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 I thought the Westwood sketch was funny, the rest were poor.
Matt Posted 2 August 2008 Posted 2 August 2008 I thought the Westwood sketch was funny, the rest were poor. I liked that one, the Stephen Hawkins one (Maybe abit controversial. I'm not sure), and thought the Harry Hill pisstake was uncanny - What a cock Harry Hill is - What is funny about him? He's one of the blokes who just has to open his mouth (Not even say anything) and people will laugh...What are they laughing at?

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 Nah i didn't watch that because it looked pretty awful. Good channel 4 comedy is very rare. Peep Show is all i can think of that is really good on Channel 4. BBC has always been the best for comedy. To be fair I think that the BBC is probably just as, if not more hit-and-miss than Channel Four when it comes to comedy. I can't really think of that many shows on C4 that have been offensively bad, but I can list a few BBC Ones that make me cringe: My Family The Green Green Grass Lab Rats Feel the Force Touch Me I'm Karen Taylor After You've Gone Also, C4 does import ALOT of quality American stuff. Programmes like Scrubs, The Big Bang Theory and The Simpsons to name a few. BBC panel shows are usually decent and they mainly stick to that formula. Nothing new or inventive is tried (in terms of comedy anyway). The only good BBC sitcoms I can think of are Not Going Out and The Worst Week of My Life. Oh, and anyone saying Bo' Selecta was poor needs to sit down and just marvel in the pure one and a half minutes of magic that is Sodapop. Marvellous.
