davieG Posted 29 July 2008 Posted 29 July 2008 I can appreciate the humour inherent in many of those sick jokes and I've cracked/passed on a few in my time but I don't feel this forum is the place to air them, it's not a case of being politically correct it's just that this is an open forum that all the world can see and that includes many impressionable youngster I also don't think it reflects the status and quality of the Foxestalk site. I'm sorry if this all sounds patronising but someone has to do the policing especially when you have some people posting jokes and then complaining about the acceptability of others, if other Admin & Mods disagree then they might feel inclined to resurrect it but I shan't be visiting it if they do.

I doubt whether anyone on here would consider telling a joke re rape or child abuse directly to someone who has recently suffered such a trauma and a forum like this being open gives no guarantee that this wont happen.

That said I didn't possess the self restraint to prevent me from posting the sickest joke I know .... which might have made some people laugh and others cringe. As you say it's all about knowing your audience. Which is why you were absolutely right to delete the thread

Near enough every joke posted was innapropriate, the topic was 'the sickest joke you know' and we posted sick jokes...most of us, including me, went a bit too far and may I add in no way am I racist, eventually I just kept taking lots from a site linked somewhere in the topic. I apologise to anyone offended by my posts in that thread. Leave it now though.
