Tabou Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 I got done last month at Pay-at-the pump petrol stations. Barclays cancelled my card without telling me (which, in the end I was thankful for). Some little chappy in Egypt had spent about £700 of my money. I phoned the police to get a crime number (as your disputed transations are settled quicker if you have a crime number ) Then I phoned Barclays, they sent the forms out to me, I filled them in (very, very straightforward) and within 15 days I had received all of my money back. It's a ball ache yes, but these things happen and you really just have to try and not get stressed about it. I was really wound up, but then I though, hey-ho, it will all be ok in the end . Hope that helps.
The People's Hero Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Happened to me. Someone tried to buy a large electrical item in Huddersfield using my credit card details but because it was out of sync with my normal spending patters the super computer machine thing at Egg stopped the payment going through.Absolutely no idea how they got my details. Mablo went to uni in Huddersfield. For some reason I think Holly has spent time there too. And then there's Andy Booth. I'd say they're your main suspects.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Mablo went to uni in Huddersfield. For some reason I think Holly has spent time there too. And then there's Andy Booth. I'd say they're your main suspects. So I did, and I wonder when we've got them away??
James. Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Don't lie, your claim to be some high flyer in Laaaandan, but really you're a hillbilly from Huddersfield, who enjoys a microwave oven the size of Big Gibbo. I reckon that's what Casa Romana use to cook their food. Mablo went to uni in Huddersfield. For some reason I think Holly has spent time there too. And then there's Andy Booth. I'd say they're your main suspects. Hmmm. Maybe they're all in it together. Does Huddersfield have a mafia?
The People's Hero Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 I reckon that's what Casa Romana use to cook their food. Hmmm. Maybe they're all in it together. Does Huddersfield have a mafia? There is a mafia yeah. Having said that the 3 suspects don't speak to each other anymore following the threesome.
Tabou Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 I reckon that's what Casa Romana use to cook their food. Hmmm. Maybe they're all in it together. Does Huddersfield have a mafia? To have a mafia means employment. It is common knowledge that nobody north of junction 22 has a job. Therefore, the answer to your question is, no, Huddersfield does not have a mafia.
Ric Flair Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 I like the fact that Manwell is keeping a close eye on this thread but not posting. The man is as guilty as Ian Huntley!
Craig Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 I got £800 of my student loan taken out of my account whilst i was at Uni, ****ers. Didn't even realise until the bank phoned me at work and said they'd spotted some suspicious transactions on my statement. But the bank eventually refunded me totally.
simtacular Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 happened to me recently, got a new card and cancelled the other. Still waiting for my money back after an investigation
Bryn Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 Have you lot never heard of the thing they put inside cash machines down in Leicestershire? That's usually the most common cause. Was a huge thing up here, was an epidemic. Basically they tamper with the machine, putting their own machine in that reads all the cards that go into the ATM. They sometimes use a camera as well to record people putting in their pin numbers. These details are then sent to some distant country where they withdraw all your money. Banks are generally pretty good about it, they keep an active eye out for it and will probably inform you before you notice. It's usually not too difficult to get all your money reimbursed. The point I was making was that chances are it just happened when you withdraw some money from a slot.
Anish Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 Cover the keypad when entering your PIN number, so that even if there was a camara they wouldn't be able to record what you have keyed in. That's what I always do and have never had any problems.

That's what I always do and have never had any problems. I always do a handstand when I take money out. It works too, i've never had any problems.
Bert Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 I always do a handstand when I take money out. It never works though, i've never had any problems. Either because - : You have no money in there - you need a job for this. : You're not tall enough. So the handstand doesn't work.
lildave3 Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 Either because - : You have no money in there - you need a job for this. : You're not tall enough. So the handstand doesn't work. Ah, a jobless/height joke. I've missed those.
Bert Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 Ah, a jobless/height joke.I've missed those. Serves you right for me telling me what way to hold the flag.
lildave3 Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 Serves you right for me telling me what way to hold the flag. And that served you right for stealing my shoes.
Bert Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 And that served you right for stealing my shoes. Er, I think you'll find i had them first.
lildave3 Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 Er, I think you'll find i had them first. I think you'll find you didn't.
Bert Posted 3 August 2008 Posted 3 August 2008 I think you'll find you didn't. Turn around, touch the ground, I bagsy that i did.
