Scaramanga! Posted 31 July 2008 Author Posted 31 July 2008 I really don't know how they got hold of them, cause i make a point of not shopping at dodgy places. Though the last place i used it was the new londis near town hall. Perhaps it could be a bit shifty. But now it leaves me high and dry till my new card arrives.

Bad luck mate, you know what country the fooker lives in ?
Simi Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 Happened to my mother, I think they just cut the card off and sent her a new one. Not completely sure. The guy doing it was using it on online gambling. She got the money back though.

The Reverend Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 Was he a little forward about it ? If it was'nt you, i'd say thats relatively funny.

SamL Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 I've had my card details stolen before and my account was cleared out. Turns out it was done by someone in Coventry.
Guest Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 Happened to me before, first I knew of it was when my bank rang me to tell me someone was trying to use my card to make a payment of £1400. Luckily (or unluckily depending on which way you look at it) I didn't have enough in my account at the time. Basically I rang the bank and went through all the disputed transactions and the refunded all the fraudulent ones. No idea how they got my details, but, and this is the only time you'll ever hear me say this, I was thankful for HSBC ringing me that day
Daggers Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 ash17lcfc has been strangely alright recently. Puberty

ASH17LCFC Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 Cant be long left for DB11 now then. First hair on ball
The Reverend Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 First hair on ball Woah there! You or DB11? Actually, i dont want to know.
Alexikokopops Posted 31 July 2008 Posted 31 July 2008 Was he a little forward about it ? That's literally brilliant. Anyway, this happened to my parents about 10 years ago. They got a phone call from the bank saying "Are you in Rome? Your card's being used there and you were using it in England earlier on today". Needless to say they weren't. The bank were grand though, sorted it all out and my parents didn't lose anything.
ozleicester Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Happened to me 4 months ago. I assume they got it from ebay or somewhere like that as i am in OZ and havent been back to the UK in years and the little buggers were buying phone credit etc in Leeds (typical). Reported to bank, they were very good, eventually it took around 2 months but we got all the money back plus interest charged. Its just the hassle of changing cards etc that annoys me, that and the fact that the little b*stards will get away with it i assume.
Ric Flair Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Happened to me a few years back. I reckon my card was cloned after getting some money out several times in the casino. Anyway, the card was used at various Tesco's around the country. I got my money back from the bank, but not until I answered various questions to prove that I was some fookin neanderthal who spent his Christmas holidays travelling the country buying a pack of chewing gum and getting £50 cashback from Tesco's to boot. The bastard did it about 9 times before I realised.
James. Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 Happened to me. Someone tried to buy a large electrical item in Huddersfield using my credit card details but because it was out of sync with my normal spending patters the super computer machine thing at Egg stopped the payment going through. Absolutely no idea how they got my details.
The People's Hero Posted 1 August 2008 Posted 1 August 2008 They wouldn't have much luck with my card details. Are that effort for a 'card declined'!!!!

Don't lie, your claim to be some high flyer in Laaaandan, but really you're a hillbilly from Huddersfield, who enjoys a microwave oven the size of Big Gibbo.
