Fox in a Box Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 So I have seen a fair few players at City over the past 25 years, one player stands out to me and its Nicky Summerbee, he played for us for nothing to try and earn a contract when we were short of funds.... who do you have in high regard and why?
billyfox1 Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Paul Dickov for having the balls to come back and win us promotion after fookin off because we weren't good enough
purpleronnie Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Tommy wright, I was a winger myself so was a fan. Muzzy was a great player on his day so was Lennon. Walsh of course, scoring 2 to get us promotion over derby!

Billy McKinlay , he was in exactly the same boat but played a much more vital role than Summerbee.
Tabou Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Richard Smith for snorting more cocaine than Pete Docherty and still turning out on a saturday afternoon. If ever I need a skip for hire, It will be a Richard Smith's skip.
The People's Hero Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Richard Smith for snorting more cocaine than Pete Docherty and still turning out on a saturday afternoon. If ever I need a skip for hire, It will be a Richard Smith's skip. Only way he was ever going to be 'skipper' I suppose. I've heard he was always jealous of David 'Skippy' Oldfield. Skip. Skip. Skip. Nadler.

The People's Hero Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 What are we talking about? We've ruined this thread. Ruined it. I think it should be closed and deleted and we should spend the time we would have spent arsing about in here attempting to bring the Dinoclopsses back to life.
Corky Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Callum Davidson for refusing to be beaten by that little tosser and helping us win promotion. Billy Mckinlay for playing for nothing. Garry Parker for having the balls to take the penalty in the 1996 play-off final. Emile Heskey for giving us money when we were in administration.
Jonezy Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Roberto Mancini for the pure fact, that he actually played for us for a little while.
MikeyT Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 So I have seen a fair few players at City over the past 25 years, one player stands out to me and its Nicky Summerbee, he played for us for nothing to try and earn a contract when we were short of funds....who do you have in high regard and why? Have to agree with that. I mean there arent many players around these days that would be willing to do what he did, i dont think.
smokey Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Richard Smith for snorting more cocaine than Pete Docherty and still turning out on a saturday afternoon. If ever I need a skip for hire, It will be a Richard Smith's skip. Just like i will call Mr Gary Parker when i need my house painting again!!
wellsy Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Matt Elliott Most professional player we have had in my opinion, great captain aswell.
FilboFox Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Matt Elliott... my hero when I first started supporting City. Absolute rock at the back, captain supreme and great when storming forward to win us vital goals.
MC Prussian Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Rob Ullathorne. And Ian "The Intaker" Marshall. What a character.
Fox You Forest Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 Izzet Elliot Walsh Would be my top 3. Ian Marshall not far behind in fourth.
