Yes, he has done terrible things, then again he's a schizophrenic. At times his brain is just going manic, voices in the head, delusions etc.

 

In his home country he would be anathema, an outcast, possibly even dead.

 

Speculation, but maybe he heard that in the UK we look after our mentally ill and help them get better. So he got here at any cost.

I mean it’s really reassuring to know that a guy who was imprisoned for kidnapping (and the wrong person at that) is so concerned about our safety
